Hey,
Just dropping you a note that you accidentally broke the indentation of the thread you were trying to close at Talk:2024 United States elections.
As the closure itself was contested at ANI, I have removed the closure and restored the version of the talk page to prior of your attempts of fixing the formatting that resulted in more issues and fixed the missing collapse bottom of the other thread you responded. Happy editing :) Raladic (talk) 02:32, 3 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20241203023200","author":"Raladic","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Raladic-20241203023200-Just_a_note_on_care_on_refactoring_talk_page_content","replies":["c-TheRazgriz-20241203025000-Raladic-20241203023200"]}}-->
Yes, upon reviewing after thinking I had corrected the code, I realized I had broken portions of the content within, but had real life to deal with for a bit so couldn't get to it.
I am only recently returning to source editing after years of visual editing, and it painfully shows lol. Thank you for the correction and the note. It is appreciated. Thank you. Source editing can be a pain if you're more familiar with visual editor. I got lucky and only ever learned on source. I noticed you do a lot of closing; I'd discourage you from closing discussions, especially ones that you were involved in. Most talk page discussions don't need to be closed and automatic archiving can handle any clutter that might build up. Let me know if you want help configuring anything! You have recently made edits related to the Arab–Israeli conflict. This is a standard message to inform you that the Arab–Israeli conflict is a designated contentious topic. This message does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. Additionally, editors must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert on the same page within 24 hours for pages within this topic. For more information about the contentious topics system, please see Wikipedia:Contentious topics.

Following BootsED's charges against you on ANI, I took a look at Talk:2024 United States elections. You dominate that page far too much, especially the RfC, where you respond voluminously and repetitiously to pretty much every comment. Once you've made a point, please don't make it five times more at ever increasing length. Please take a look at WP:BLUDGEON for a useful explanation of the problems with your approach. You may be page-blocked from 2024 United States elections and its talkpage if nothing changes. I hope you read the last reply I left within the RfC, in response to another user directly replying to me, where I note that I was admitting that my personal issue with being concise was a problem I have noted as trying to deal with IRL (true), and that in light of the obvious fact that my position within the RfC had me as it only champion, continuing to participate would only be disruptive and asking the other user (and by extension, everone else) to stop replying there, at least to me. I also noted in that reply that I had already noted my intention to stop actively opposing, shown by my previous revoking of my opposition and moving to note my abstention.
Just to be clear for the record that I was already obviously trying to conform to WP:BLUDGEON already. All right, noted, but look... please have more consideration for your reader and use a diff when stuff is hard to find, rather than sending people on a wild-goose chase. It was indeed in your chronologically last post in the RfC that you wrote about being terrible at being concise, but you placed it towards the end of a painfully long post, in the middle of an earlier discussion, above at least four earlier posts by yourself. With some effort, I've found it. It's unlikely that it'll much impress anybody trying to gain a general impression of the discussions on the page, since what looks like your last post at this moment is this. Therefore it's a bit of an exaggeration to say that you were obviously "trying to conform to WP:BLUDGEON already" - it was far from obvious to me. But I'm happy you had actually already realized the problem. Do you ever provide diffs, by the way? They're a great convenience for others. I hope it won't offend if I ask if you know how to create them. Wikipedia:Simple diff and link guide is a good resource. I have used them before, and I do know how to create/use them. An issue for me is the fact that my whole life Ive taken the phrase "the devil is in the details" as apparently my life motto, and especially on serious issues I try to explain myself thoroughly in hopes I can be understood and not have my view/position/stance mischaracterized or slanted. Few things annoy me as much as making a point, only to have that point ignored or taken in a way I did not myself want it to be, by removing context surrounding it. I have been working on this issue of over-explanation IRL, and appreciate any patience given in relation to that. Not asking for special treatment, just not wanting the most uncharitable interpretation of my actions.
I am working and dealing with a medical condition in IRL, but am also in my free time trying to formulate my reply on the NB...trying desperately to condense it down, but there is so much to unpack and respond to in one message. Literally over a month of near constant activity. FYI I will try to have it published within the next several hours, but ask for patience if IRL keeps me from doing so for longer than that. Razgriz, one of the benefits of writing concisely is that the less you write, the less likely Few things annoy me as much as making a point, only to have that point ignored or taken in a way I did not myself want it to be, by removing context surrounding it can happen.
When you write long, you give people eighty gazillion things to decide to reply to (and ignore the part that was really important to you). When you write short, not so much. This is very true, which is why I have been working on this problem IRL. I don't think you are deliberately depleting the energy resources of your opponents with your volubility; you have claimed that you're trying to be more concise, and I believe that. It does beggar belief that you apparently think your tempestuous argumentation merely amounts to 'letting the facts speak for themselves', but I'm trying. (Phrasing within the same diff such as "they seem to have clutched their pearls" and "I have no further patience for this users penchant for hypocrisy", "this user" being again TarnishedPath, do not help.) In my opinion your apparent inability to ever back away from any dead horse you come across is a major problem on a project like Wikipedia. See also my fuller comment on ANI. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.Bishonen | tålk21:37, 15 December 2024 (UTC).[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20241215213700","author":"Bishonen","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Bishonen-20241215213700-Blocked","replies":["c-TheRazgriz-20241216001600-Bishonen-20241215213700"]}}-->
I will say it is absurd to me to be blocked on reason of bludgeon for responding to a lengthy accusation, with a reply of smaller volume. Especially when the accuser was told to report me by an involved Admin seemingly reviving the supposedly dead horse. This entire saga is wild. And no, Im not wasting my time appealing the block. When was the last time anyone was successful at that? Its about as useful as the average corporate HR dept..."here is a place where you can pretend to have some hope while you dig yourself a deeper hole."
BootsED gets no block for beating the dead horse and reviving the then archived topic because they didn't like the outcome, and TarnishedPath gets no block for beating the dead horse by posing a lengthy pseudo-report with more accusations after being pushed to do so by a directly involved Admin. But I get a block for responding to a revived ANI about myself, again at the insistence of an Admin. Your justification makes no sense there, so it just comes across like an excuse poorer than my childhood.
If it was a dead horse, you should have closed the damn topic and/or re-archive it then. But I wasn't even the one beating it, they were. All I did was respond to yet more accusations being added to the dogpile. I appreciate your kind words and the likely sincerity they hold to you, but actions speak volumes louder. You just blocked me for defending myself. Just another prime example that once someone is on a metaphorical shitlist, they can be treated differently and given special negative attention others don't get.
Just let the record show that at the end of all this horseshit, I remain the only person involved who has the fucking integrity to apologize to others and admit to myself when I believe I am wrong and admit that fault to others in good faith. EVERYONE ELSE in this shitshow is too damn insecure to have enough respect for at least themselves to do the same, yet they have had the audacity to accuse me of having an "I'm always right, everyone else is always wrong" approach and accusing me repeatedly of acting out of bad faith. Life was easier as an IP user good faith editing into the void where I didn't have to deal with weasels, bullies, and assholes all preening themselves at my expense. Nothing has eroded my good faith in the WP process as much as having to deal with this horrid "pick a side" system operating behind the scenes. Bullies outright allowed say you are lying about yourself, lying about your experience, lying about your beliefs, lying about your motivations, and can bold face lie about what you did or didn't actually say by cherry-picking (and resorting to making shit up outright that you never even said), and ALL OF THAT IS FINE! Looking forward to your triumphant return. ~ Pbritti (talk) 02:15, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20241216021500","author":"Pbritti","type":"comment","level":5,"id":"c-Pbritti-20241216021500-Bishonen-20241216010800","replies":["c-Bishonen-20241216023300-Pbritti-20241216021500"]}}-->
Pbritti, it sounds almost like you're advising TheRazGriz not to answer my simple question about the admin(s) they have mentioned. As if you think it could be dangerous to answer me? But why? It's not a trick question. I'd like to know who these people are, that's all. To help me get a clearer picture of the scenario TRG paints. @Bishonen: I am unsure how you got advising TheRazGriz not to answer my simple question from advising them to be careful and to back down. TheRazGriz is clearly agitated, considering the profanity above. I want them to be patient with their response and not encourage their own indefinite block by responding to a question that might be interpreted by them as goading. It's best to let this editor cool off and check in with them in a week. ~ Pbritti (talk) 02:48, 16 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20241216024800","author":"Pbritti","type":"comment","level":7,"id":"c-Pbritti-20241216024800-Bishonen-20241216023300","replies":[]}}-->
Editors do get unblocked. I've seen it and I sometimes unblock editors that I've blocked. If you have a good case you could be unblocked, but I think that ship has sailed given your responses. Still, it can't hurt to try. I don't think a bit of venting at being blocked precludes unblocking, Doug Weller — a block is pretty much always a shock, and it's only human to react accordingly. I do wish TheRazgriz would answer my question about the admin(s) they mention — it's a serious question, and I'm baffled that Pbritti seems to think it might be "goading" (?) — but apart from that, I'm fine with their reaction, and would have no objection to an uninvolved admin electing to unblock. The ship hasn't sailed AFAIC. @Bishonen Yes, you're right, blocked editors are expected to vent. But the question needs an answer.
