fyi, the "country in eurovision" template adds every article that has the template to the category "country in the eurovision song contest" automatically so you dont need to add it yourself. Also, you dont need to pipe the link with the |2000 for example because they will be in order anyway. We recently decided that if a country did not make it to the final, than we would leave that spot in the infobox blank as opposed to "N/A", ok? If a singer is in say "Greek eurovision song contest entrants" they should NOT be in "eurovision song contest entrants" also since the greek one is a subcategory of the other. Then the page will be in the same category twice. I looked back at the category and we try to avoid a page being double categoried (page in the main cat and a sub cat). But looking back at the entrants, i think i like that better. The "country in eurovision song contest" AUTOMATICALLY adds the cat "Country in the eurovision song contest" and in my opinion, piping the year so it sorts by year doesnt look as good. And sorry, but you kept going! lol. Hey, try to remember to add references to articles when you add information. Like on Finland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009, you need to show where you got the date from. Its pretty easy to find an article on Oikotimes or ESCToday so if you want to look at Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 you can see how the refs are done (Copy paste and put right info in). You need to stop removing maintenance tags (unreferenced, citations needed, wikify) unless you are addressing them. Example: [1] I didn't see any references added... We were thinking about merging all separate national final pages into the country in the eurovision song contest year pages under the national final category. For example putting Festivali I Këngës 43 into the national final section of Albania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. Yea, that's fine. My problem is that I don't want to see pages with just a link to the final's instead of actually describing it. There should be a few paragraphs taken from the contest's page, but maybe the semi-final charts and such can stay there and just say so and so won the semi and went on to the final with a table of only the finalists in the national final section. They should be like Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 which was nominated for GA status. As far as I know, that is our best example. Currently, the main topic is only the Eurovision Song Contest. Some believe that both the Junior Contest and Dance Contest should be included. Hey, if you ever see a song like "Reflection (Eurovision song)" use the move tag to move it to song name (song) or if that is taken song name (artist song). Eurovision should never be there. A user reverted my redirect of the pages, don't do anything drastic to the yugoslavia page. I asked for a second opinion by administrators. I think that Sims2aholic8 has not read the debate and the contradiction in terms of all of the sources that Greekboy and Grk1011 (who think like they ought to be a one person).

That appearance in 1992 under the name Yugoslavia was not for the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia but for the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro). Why do you think Serbia and Montenegro first appeared in 2004? Because they were under United Nations and European Union sanctions. That appearance in 1992 was under the plain flag of navy blue, white, bright red flag of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. IT was most certainly not under the flag of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia which has the same flag colors but with the red five pointed star in the middle.

This should end, but not with the result that Greekboy and Grk1011 want.

What should we do? I was thinking to put all the info on Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest since it may be misleading since Estonia never actually participated in the 1993 contest. I just fixed the section for that in ESC 1993, but I don't think that the national selection for Estonia matters there, you know? It would only be relevant in the Estonia article. Good job on the history, though a lot of that should be on Denmark in the Eurovision Song Contest instead. You also need to add sources and keep in mind that Denmark is not plural: "Denmark was" not "Denmark were". If you don't know the formatting for the refs I can put them in for you, I'll also do some research when I get home from work. Good then, and one more question. I'm experimenting with a new song in esc template that will automatically change all the ones in use from {{Infobox ESC entry}} to {{Infobox ESC entry (test template)}}. Its basically more organized and will look better when combined with the singles infobox. Anything wrong with it that you can see? Color, fields? Issue relating to Eurovision can be complicated and disagreements do form. This was particularly shown in the aftermath of Kosovo's declaration of independence and the creation of a Kosovo in the Eurovision Song Contest article, there is still discussion on the talk page over its inclusion. A further disagreement was formed over a proposed merger to Yugoslavia in the Eurovision Song Contest. Hi there. I've just reverted your edits as they miss the point of the article. Rather than by number of wins, the list is about overall performance. Ireland has only ranked in the top two 11 times, compared to the UK's 20. Statistically they are the top performing country, with Ireland in 3rd. I went ahead and corrected the article again...while she is known by Carola today, she entered the 1983 contest and was billed by her whole name, Carola Häggkvist. I copy-edited the beginning of the article stopping before the songs. Try to source the descriptions of them, you got them somewhere. Also, I have a better idea for the results, see Greece in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005. We should have the results written out instead of just showing a results table. You don't need the source for the songwriters in the table if you have them sourced in each song's description. I think that's all so far. Eurovision News The first annual Asiavision Song Contest has been announced and the 2009 contest will take place next summer. De Toppers were announced as the Dutch entry for the 2009 contest. Estonia announced its participation in the 2009 contest, despite requests by the Estonian Minister of Culture to withdraw due to the 2008 war in South Ossetia. Melodifestivalen 2009 broke a record with 3,440 songs sent in. Slovakia announced its return to the contest after an 11-year absence. The Bulgarian national final, "Be A Star", will start October 2 with 45 songs. Member News The project currently has 48 members, 22 of which are considered active. I have started a Wikipedia:Request for comment on this topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Eurovision#RfC on ESCKaz reliability. This discussion originates from questions on the reliability of the ESCKaz website and if it should be used in Eurovision articles on Wikipedia. It has now being extended to fully review all sources used in articles covered by WikiProject Eurovision, including ESCToday and Oikotimes. This is a very important issue to the project as sourcing is a key part of articles, and consensus needs to be reached on which sources should be used when, where and how. This discussion however has so far lacked a wide range of editor participation, and as you have listed yourself as a member of WikiProject Eurovision I invite you to add your thoughts. As the contest gets into full swing, more and more editors will come and edit the project's articles. This one along with a November supplement that will recap what happened in November. Project Talk Page The WikiProject Eurovision Newsletter Issue V - December 2008 Project News IMPORTANT: Please give your opinion here about the inclusion of selection processes in Country in the ESC Year pages. The backlog of assessments in the project is still ongoing, with a large number of articles not being rated. If you see articles without the {{EurovisionNotice}} template on the article's talk page, please add it, or read Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment if you would like to help assess the articles as well. Instructions for the use of all Eurovision templates and descriptions for the layouts of pages are still in the works. Remember to source all information you add to pages or else it may be removed and always use an edit summary so other users know why you are adding or removing information. Eurovision News Georgia won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with "Bzz..." performed by Bzikebi. The deadline for countries to enter the 2009 contest has closed, with at least 42 countries scheduled to participate. Malta's Euro Showbox is in full swing, with three semi-finals having already been held in November. Half of the contestants who will compete in Melodifestivalen 2009 have been revealed, including many past Melodifestivalen contests such as BWO, Måns Zelmerlöw, Alcazar and Sarah Dawn Finer Three more songs have qualified for the semi-final of Bulgaria's selection process. Three more heats and another quarter-final will be held during December. After conflicts within the band, this year's Dutch representative, De Toppers, will include Jeroen van der Boom who has replaced Gerard Joling. Spain has announced the return of its Myspace selection process which was also used in 2008. Moldova has announced an open call for composer to submit songs for a national final. The submission deadline is set for December 20, 2008. Iceland has announced its national final plans. Sixteen songs will compete in four heats in January, leading up to the final in February. Member News The project currently has 55 members, 31 (just over 50%) of which are considered active, so let's improve that to at least 75%! Want to invite new members? Just a couple of short months after starting the newsletter and reorganizing the Eurovision project, things are finally starting to look good and consistent for 2009! As we move into December, and ever closer to the "heart" of the National Final/Selection season, I would like to remind members to take a look at the project description/guideline on the project page and try to follow it the best way possible as the season progresses. Our main goal here is to have all of the articles consistent, while also being able to nominate them for GA status or above once the 2009 contest is over. The best and easiest way to achieve this is if we all work together and follow the guidelines. I would also like to remind users to source all information added into articles, preferably by reliable/established sources. Any questions regarding sources should be asked on the project talk page. Also, there is a large backlog of 1087 Unassessed Eurovision articles that need to be assessed. Any help with assessment will be appreciated and noted. If we can manage to work together and follow the guidelines, as well as monitoring unregistered IP addresses, I think the 2009 season will go by much easier than past years! Sure we will still get into our little arguments here and there, and have different opinions about editing, but that's part of the whole editing experience. What fun would there be without the occasional drama? Just remember that at the end of the day, we are all working towards a common goal. Happy Editing!
