Message for Pmbma re Computer Park
Hi - I'm guessing you're an ex-Computer-Park person as it looks like you created CP's wikipedia page. See the link I've just added to that page for the discussion group we've recently started for CP alumni.
Hello, Pmbma, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Venice Airport
Hey Pmbma!
I regarding to message left on my talk page, and saw that Marco1990's edits to this airport. He may be a suspected sockpuppet of User:S marky 90, as both of these users have made simliar edits to this airport. If I were you, I would alert the admin of this matter. Have a great day! PHX
Hi Pmbma,
I do not agree if this was the case all other airlines AA, DL, NW, AS, UA should have their destinations list updated for PHX since most of them provide same plane and flight number service to a number of cities outside of their initial stop. The fact is if you look at all the airlines and their destinations listed they are all NONSTOP not 1 stop service. If it is to be kept it should be noted that AM MEX is not a nonstop destination for AM otherwise it is provided false information.
ops sorry forgot my sig04:32, 18 December 2008 (UTC)Daltnpapi4u (talk)
I agree that AA, DL, etc... provide 1-stop flights out of PHX to a variety of destinations. However, most of these 1-stop flights are via a hub of the airline. Many of those flights on for example AA go non-stop from PHX to either DFW or ORD or another AA hub, and then onto somewhere else. Look at all those 1-stop flights, and then cross off the list all the ones which go via an airline's hub, and see what you're left with. I suspect you will be left with comparatively few destinations. Pmbma (talk) 01:46, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Pmbma[reply]
I agree with you on that however if the editor is only going to choose 1 airline to do this for and not the rest then the entire page is providing incomplete information. So why just AM? why wont they verify all those other flights to? thats what my problem is.. the biggest airline where they will probably have alot of work to do on is WN since they provide many 1 stop same plane service to many destinations outside of their initial stop out of PHX. And then on that note they should get working on all those other cities as well since WN also does this out of almost every city the fly to.Daltnpapi4u (talk) 03:23, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Pick an airline (something relatively simple - not WN !), list the destinations (on my talk page, not the PHX page) that you think should or shouldn't be listed from PHX, and we can discuss in more detail Pmbma (talk) 03:30, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Pmbma[reply]
I've had a look at airports flown by WN from PHX. I'd suggest that if a route is served only from PHX or only to PHX (i.e. unidirectional rather than bidirectional) then it should not be listed as a PHX destination. I've chosen the week beginning 10-Jan, as this avoids any one-off specials over the Xmas period. This means we can rule out Albany, Cleveland, Corpus, Ft Myers, Harlinger, Hartford, Jackson, Midland Odess, Washington Dulles.
Of the remainder with bi-directional flights not involving a code change, Amarillo is flown via Denver (a hub), Boise is flown via Las Vegas (a hub), Ft Lauderdale is flown via Birmingham (a hub), Jacksonville is flown via Birmingham (again, a hub), Long Island is flown via Chicago-Midway (a hub), etc..... which then rules these routes out if one is to follow WP policy. There might be the odd missing destination, but at least for WN, I'm having difficulty finding errors in the PHX article on WP. If you think there are any specific examples that are missing, I'd be keen to hear about them Pmbma (talk) 04:03, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Pmbma[reply]

Hi,
yes, they have ceased these flights in November. Normaly they dont't publish any news about this.
I just wanted to compre times with Jet2 DUB charter as currently its impossible for jet 2 to operate it as the aircraft is coming from there to DUB and last year it was done by NCL aircraft but its not being done by any UK base at the minute.

Hi Pmb, I'll be your instructor in the Academy and we can get started tommorow or whenever works for you. Let me know Dan653 (talk) 02:34, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Read the page. In the past I've often edited wikipedia pages under an IP address for various reasons, so understand that it is not in itself vandalism. However, I've recently seen a case where someone using different IP addresses seems to be putting up plausible information without a source and which go against information on reliable websites, combined with a degree of edit-warring without providing an explanation. If the dubious user gets a different IP address each time they connect their PC to the web, how does one inform said user to try to provide a reference for their claims ? Sure, you can wait for the user to get bored of the silly game, but there has to be a better way without necessarily locking pages that they regularly seem to target
Separately, if one wishes to revert a page to a specific version and don't want to use 'undo' - either because someone else has made subsequent edits rendering the dodgy edits non-undoable, or because there are *lots* of small dodgy edits which would be very laborious to undo individually, what's the best way to approach this ? Pmbma (talk) 23:02, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Could you list a few of the Ip adresses and I'll look into it. This might be for an administrator to deal with. I'll let you know.
For you, you would probably have to edit each of the edits out of the page individually. If you let me know the page(s) I might be able to edit them out with rollback. Dan653 (talk) 23:12, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Pages which I'm pretty certain are sneaky vandalism are Prague Ruzyne Airport (I've already reverted manually) and M. R. Stefanik Airport (Sir Tanx did the revert but user seems to want to undo the revert. 2 other pages which seem to have certainly dubious edits (but on which I'm not sufficiently knowledgable on the subject matter to say for definite) are Tribhuvan International Airport and King Hussein International Airport (manual undo of dodgy edits is not available because of subsequent good edits by another user). IP addresses are 180.149.17.123 and 180.149.12.207 which both tie back to the same ISP. One of the IP addresses has had other edits a month earlier which seem to be genuinely good edits, so blocking the IP address is probably a bad idea. Pmbma (talk) 23:23, 8 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you don't mind, but I hid your warnings on 17.123 and 12.207 and put up an unsourced warning. All warnings can be found here User:Arnon_Chaffin/Anti-Vandalism_Center, it's a great resource. Where it says article just put the articles name. I'm still looking into the Ips. I'll let you know what I find. Dan653 (talk) 02:36, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to Mutoko Airport. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. Please do not sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. Hi Pmbma,
A few weeks ago we had a revert 'conflict' over Germania's flights between London Gatwick and Prishtina. I had 'inside' information that these flights would continue during the winter season (the same as last year). This has now been reflected in Germania's official flight plan on their website flygermania.de. Hope this resolves the issue. I apologise if I gave the impression of being impolite, however I simply wanted the correct information to be reflected on the Wikipedia article. It just took a bit of time for the official information to be reflected in Germania's timetable. Kind regards, Kosovar (talk) 19:05, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again and thanks for the message. No, I do not know what will happen beyond April 2015. Sadly, Germania no longer flies from London Gatwick to Erfurt, so their only flight out of London is to Prishtina. That makes this line vulnerable in my opinion because LGW-PRN line does not fit with the rest of Germania network. It does, however, make British Airway a wee bit more likely to resume its London Gatwick-Prishtina route. How I wish that happened! Best wishes, Kosovar (talk) 19:58, 22 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding this edit [1] what the IP did is an unsourced change, as they did in other Bulgarian airlines articles. Your reversion only backs their actions, which are against WP:VERIFY. I've reinstated the previous version. Also note that they didn't even bother in changing the access date if the source under a paywall was accessible to them.--JetstreamerTalk20:44, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you recurrently add "missing ref" tag on Ryanair disappeared services (mainly in Italian airport pages). Please, if a service is no longer available, remove it, instead of adding tags. In the "Airlines and destinations" sections there is no need to reference services that are ongoing and those that have been deleted can be removed directly. In this pandemic period is normal that an airline remove services without announcing if and when will be resumed. Wherever a service will re-start, it will be re-added without problems.

Hey there. Please note that Alsie Express removed Bornholm from their destinations guide while the seasonal summer charters for 2021 still remain. The route is therefore likely not resuming. This is a route solely within Denmark, targeted at passengers who almost all have Danish as their primary language. The destinations page of the airline in Danish lists Bornholm as a destination - I would treat this as more reliable than a page in English Pmbma (talk) 01:19, 21 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message. COVID-19 outbreak has hit airports hard around the world and many airlines cancelled thousands of flights. There is a deal to not remove flights on Wikipedia if they are on a hold. If we only follow one rule "where can person buy a ticket" at this moment, hundreds of fligts would be removed from Wiki, and "Airlines and destinations" part would be completely blank (for example Airports in Australia). Word "cancelled" is often used on Wikipedia, both for airport pages and List of destinations by airpline companies, so it is not only for Niš Constantine the Great Airport.
Now, what is specific for Niš Constantine the Great Airport. Ryanair flights to Berlin and Bratislava are not on sale at the moment, but Ryanair is planning to outline the resumption dates. It was planned for November 2021, but there is no date still. However, this is just suspended route, not terminated like Stockholm–Skavsta and Weeze, when the same company cancels flights and officially announced that information. Do not forget, Serbia is not a member of the EU and this still makes it difficult to restore all suspended lines to EU countries during Covid-19.
Air Serbia added twelve destinations of public interest in 2020 and 2021 from Niš Constantine the Great Airport. Hahn and Ljubljana have been restored and Budapest is cancelled. Air Serbia contract with the government is signed until 2023 for suspended lines to Rome, Hannover, Bologna, Göteborg, Friedrichshafen, Karlsruhe, Salzburg, Nuremberg. It is clear to everyone what "suspended" means and we will update Nis page once we receive new info..
PS. You could wait for my answer before publishing reports, as you first asked a question on my page
Response
It's not about can you buy a ticket to travel today or tomorrow - it's about can you buy a ticket for a date in the future. Granted you cannot buy a ticket from Australia to many countries for travel in January 2022... but you *can* buy a ticket for many of these routes in December 2022, showing that an airline has an intention to resume flying in the future. The Ryanair website has removed routes from Nis to Bratislava and Berlin from its web page at www.ryanair.com - so there is no obvious intent to resume flying these routes. They do however list routes on their home page to Malta, Stockholm and Vienna, showing active intent to fly these routes instead. Air Serbia at airserbia.com shows routes from Nis to Belgrade and Hahn (for example) on their home page, but doesn't allow attempting of booking of flights on their home page from Nis to (for example) Bologna or Friedrichshafen - so they show no clear intent of resumption of flying these routes. Yes, it is possible that some of these suspended routes will return to being actively flown - but there is no clear and active intent from Ryanair or Air Serbia to do so any time in the future on the suspended routes and the airlines have not stated a date when they plan to resume flying. As passenger airlines exist to sell tickets for travel in return for money - not being willing to sell a ticket between 2 cities for any date in the future indicates a lack of desire to be a passenger airline between 2 cities. For a commercial company, actions speak louder than words.
Separately, I don't see what Serbia not being a member of the EU has to do with the matter - an airport in Serbia should be treated the same way as an airport in (for example) Russia - we list the routes that are flown, and don't show any other routes.
As an aside, I raised the proposal for suspended routes being removed 2 days before you reverted (again) another person's attempt at removal of the suspended routes - you did not make any response on either your talk page of the Nis airport talk page. Had you engaged in discussion earlier, I would not have filed a report over edit warring.

Can you be one of the helpers to add another column in the airlines and destinations called terminals and assign airlines to which terminal they operate at? ... You have got to understand that Corendon still displays flights in its booking system which are marked as "sold out", but won't operate. I did already remove these so I won't have to do all the edits again in a few weeks.
It is just highly unprobable that Corendon will operate four flights in April only as e.g. FKB-FUE as they had already cut the whole schedule this winter, even though displaying a price. But for me it is okay if you re-add that bunch of destinations, I just don't see the point in removing them again after the next schedule update. Der HON (talk) 17:35, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! The article already has little relevant information. Let's keep that paragraph that I just added like it is for now, please, and once flights start, we can simply replace it with a statement that flights debuted in June 2023. BaboneCar (talk) 14:54, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I believe that I know what you mean with only including notable information, even though I am not very familiarized with the guidelines in the aviation portal yet, but I can learn further about that. Since it is an airport opening now for the first time, I believe that the first flight announcements are quite relevant information since they are a first, but I do agree that we should not then continue with adding paragraphs for every other routes announcements that will follow from now on in the future if that is considered not notable. I believe it could be relevant and useful if a history of the routes operated over the time from the airport was included in that paragraph (if notable per the guidelines indeed), but only if that was thorough and not only including random information. Thanks, Pmbma. BaboneCar (talk) 15:42, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Pmbma,
First of all wishing you a happy new year :).
Please be aware, that when adding a source to the airlines and destinations paragraph, the comma comes before the source itself according to the wikipedia standard WP:CITEFOOT.
Should look like this then:
CORRECT: [...], Munich,[1] [...]
WRONG: [...], Munich[2], [...]
Thanks and have fun editing. Der HON (talk) 18:47, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, and thank you for your efforts to improve Wikipedia, and in particular for adding references, as you did to Sharm El Sheikh International Airport! However, you should know that adding a bare URL is not ideal, and exposes the reference to linkrot. It is preferable to use proper citation templates when citing sources. A bare URL is a URL cited as a reference for some information in an article without any accompanying information about the linked page. In other words, it is just URL copied and pasted into the Wiki text, inserted between <ref>...</ref> tags, without title, author, date, or any of the usual information necessary for a bibliographic citation. Here's an example of a full citation using the {{cite web}} template to cite a web page:
Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.
which displays inline in the running text of the article as:
If you've already entered one or more bare urls to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations; try the reFill tool, which can resolve some bare references semi-automatically.
Once again, thanks for adding references to articles, and to avoid future link rot, please consider supplementing your bare URLs—creating full, inline citations with title, author, date, publisher, etc. More information can be found at Wikipedia:Inline citations. Thank you. :Jay8g [V•T•E] 22:59, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lorem ipsum<ref>{{cite web |title=Download the Scanning Software - Windows and Mac |publisher=Canon Inc |work=Ask a Question |date=2022 |url=https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART174839 |access-date=2022-04-02}}</ref> dolor sit amet.
which displays inline in the running text of the article as:
If you've already added one or more bare URLs to an article, there are tools available to expand them into full citations; try the reFill tool, which can resolve some bare references semi-automatically.
Once again, thanks for adding references to articles. VenFlyer98 (talk) 17:23, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi... I know I'm meant to use full citations. However there are 2 things discouraging me. First CitationBot exists and does a good job. Second, there are a vast number of references that I want to add to wikipedia for what are currently unreferenced or primary-source-only statements. I just don't see a way of adding tens of thousands of individual references quickly without it tripling the time (or longer) it will take to include the references. There are enough people who regularly suggest a page be deleted from wikipedia (with only a week or two of notice) due to lack of independent source references, and very few people seem to care about this, so wikipages built up over years by dozens of volunteers disappear within a few weeks. No, this is not a new thing - been happening for years. I think it's more important to get independent sources into wikipedia and ensure wikipages are not deleted, than worry about how those sources appear.Pmbma (talk) 10:05, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Except it's not just how sources appear, is it? It's also about preventing link rot. Also, it takes but two seconds to use a tool such as WebRef to automatically generate the full citation for you, which you then copy and paste into the editor. Finally, please don't expect other editors to do your work for you. All that will cause is other editors to get annoyed at constantly having to chase after you and tidy up what you have left. Danners430 (talk) 10:17, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've looked at reFill, WebRef and others... but I see something that works on small scale for adding one or two references, not something that works at large scale, for adding tens of thousands. I see a very large number of references needing to be added to back up existing statements on wikipedia (often because years ago people weren't so worried about references on wikipedia), but nobody else willing to get involved on a large scale.
Which do you prefer ? Perfect references - and wikipages being deleted on a regular basis... or basic references being added and wikipages not being deleted ? I don't see anybody else willing to add references to back up existing statements on the wikipages I have in mind (mainly airline and airport pages), but I do see people on wikipedia raising large numbers of requests to delete pages because of lack of non-primary-source references.
Big job that cannot be deferred any longer, limited time, not enough people available - what do you do in the real world ? Pmbma (talk) 10:41, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What do I do? I chase after people like you and finish the job that they started… it doesn't take much to copy and paste a fully formatted cite between multiple articles. Once you've found the cite that backs up the statement being made, use WebRef (a 2 second job) then copy the result to all of the articles that you want to cite with that webpage.
It's not like you're using an automated tool to do what you're doing - it adds but one or two steps to fully format a cite over a completely unformatted cite. Danners430 (talk) 10:48, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Is there any tool/website whereby I can paste a simple URL into a simple form in a web page, press a button and it will generate a full citation for me ? No filling in lots of additional boxes in a form to handle all kinds of more complex cases, no login - just a really quick-and-eaay-to-use form on a page with three features - a textbox for a basic URL, a button and a space to hold the text for the full citation. If that exists, I'm willing to use it Pmbma (talk) 11:10, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

In the past (e.g. 5 or 10 years ago), when an airline no longer sold tickets for a route, I would just remove the route from Wikipedia - i.e. ensure that Wikipedia reflects what happens in real life. If it was a seasonal route (e.g. summer only) I would wait until the airline had put on sale all the other routes for a season - just in case there was a delay of some sort. Now, if I delete a route, people on Wikipedia immediately revert my edit asking for an independent source before deletion is possible. If I just put a citation-needed or better-source-needed tag without a comment, and then wait a month, people still insist on an independent source and revert my edit. So... it becomes necessary to justify in explicit and great detail every single change, or my edits will almost certainly be reverted within 12 hours. I add a citation-needed or better-source-needed tag only when I have good reason to believe a route is closing - I always verify on an airline website over a period of several months if tickets are being sold before considering a route is potentially being closed. Again, the airline-destination tables on wikipedia should come as close as possible to real life. Regarding the serial vandal, the edits I reverted were with the explicit written agreement of the wiki-admin who was originally trying to revert them - see my comment on the talk page of ScottishFinnishRadish and his/her reply. The Eindhoven routes are no longer listed on airline websites and there has been a citation-needed or better-source-needed tag with an explanatory comment for over 4 weeks - this edit from the IP address in question in this case seemed valid.
