There is a factual accuracy dispute on Talk:Grand Prix Tennis Championship Series 1970–1989#Factual Accuracy Dispute. Maybe you can help us with some of the questions. Hey Navops,
Here is the code for collapsible boxes:
{|class="wikitable collapsible collapsed"
|-
!Time span
!Selected Grand Slam tournament records
!Players matched
|-
[write records here]
Don't worry. Even I had trouble at first with the drop down boxes too. The essential part is to format the column headings with the ! at the beginning and write them on separate lines (as opposed to:
| Time Span || Selected Grand Slam tournament records || Players matched
I found out that even if you designate the table as "collapsible collapsed," the code will not work until you use the "! and separate line format." Cheers! —Bloom6132 (talk) 18:21, 30 January 2012 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2012-01-30T18:21:00.000Z","author":"Bloom6132","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Bloom6132-2012-01-30T18:21:00.000Z-Drop_down_boxes_for_tennis_records_tables","replies":["c-Bloom6132-2012-01-30T18:37:00.000Z-Bloom6132-2012-01-30T18:21:00.000Z"]}}-->
- Also, as for inclusion into players' articles, I think drop down boxes are best for ones with long and cumbersome record tables (e.g. Agassi, Lendl, maybe Borg and McEnroe, etc.). However, articles' with few records (e.g. Sampras, Laver, Edberg, etc.) can and should keep the current formatting (in my opinion). —Bloom6132 (talk) 18:37, 30 January 2012 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2012-01-30T18:37:00.000Z","author":"Bloom6132","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Bloom6132-2012-01-30T18:37:00.000Z-Bloom6132-2012-01-30T18:21:00.000Z","replies":["c-Navops47-2012-01-31T05:04:00.000Z-Bloom6132-2012-01-30T18:37:00.000Z"]}}-->
- Thanks again for that one and yes its mainly for the big ones --Navops47 (talk) 05:04, 31 January 2012 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2012-01-31T05:04:00.000Z","author":"Navops47","type":"comment","level":3,"id":"c-Navops47-2012-01-31T05:04:00.000Z-Bloom6132-2012-01-30T18:37:00.000Z","replies":[]}}-->
Now that we're more or less finished with adding records, record tables and formatting them with drop down boxes, I think the next step would be to find some reliable sources for the records. This is especially true for the more obscure tennis records.
Just the other day, I was checking on Pete Sampras' tiebreak records. It turns out that the only place they mentioned those record numbers are from this tennis blog. Of course, since a blog wouldn't be the most reliable of sources, I searched the FedEx Reliability Zone on the ATP website and found out that Federer and Roddick hold those records (and neither of them have their record numbers as high as what was listed on the blog). Of course, the one limitation of the Reliability Zone is that it only tracks records post–1972 (i.e. ATP era only) Do you know of any other sources we could consult? Cheers! —Bloom6132 (talk) 19:11, 6 February 2012 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2012-02-06T19:11:00.000Z","author":"Bloom6132","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Bloom6132-2012-02-06T19:11:00.000Z-Drop_down_boxes_for_tennis_records_tables","replies":[]}}-->
