You may not be aware that there has been considerable discussion over the inclusion of proofs in WP mathematics articles, and a consensus has been reached that detailed proofs are ordinarily inappropriate to an encyclopedia. There are limited exceptions when the proof itself, as opposed to the result proved, has gained wide notice. Come by Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Mathematics and someone will be able to speak to the point in more detail. --Trovatore (talk) 23:19, 17 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-07-17T23:19:00.000Z","author":"Trovatore","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Trovatore-2010-07-17T23:19:00.000Z-Proofs","replies":[]}}-->
Hi! Please see the talk page for Black-Scholes if you are interested. I have some suggestions where I think the earlier version before your changes are better, and it would be nice to discuss this with you. Perhaps you have ideas how to make this into a featured article? Best regards Ulner (talk) 21:32, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2010-11-18T21:32:00.000Z","author":"Ulner","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Ulner-2010-11-18T21:32:00.000Z-Hi","replies":[]}}-->
Also on the subject of Black-Scholes. I agree with you that an introduction to the main ideas would be more helpful than diving in to the details of computation. However, you should be careful to make sure that you understand the language you're using, e.g. "market equilibrium" doesn't mean what you think, and "prevention of delta-hedging" should presumably be "prevention of arbitrage". Getting this sort of thing wrong makes it much less likely your edits will be considered seriously. Regards, a mathematician and someone who does this for living. 86.159.21.129 (talk) 21:30, 12 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2011-02-12T21:30:00.000Z","author":"86.159.21.129","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-86.159.21.129-2011-02-12T21:30:00.000Z-Hi","replies":[]}}-->

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.
On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.
For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.
Thank you for your understanding and happy editingĀ :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:48, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2011-03-14T19:48:00.000Z","author":"LivingBot","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-LivingBot-2011-03-14T19:48:00.000Z-Notification:_changes_to_\"Mark_my_edits_as_minor_by_default\"_preference","replies":[]}}-->

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Density functional theory into Draft:Hohenberg-Kohn theorem. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you.
