Hello, Crosstemplejay. You have new messages at Sadads's talk page. You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
Hi there, I had a look at your DYK nomination. I haven't "officially" reviewed it, but don't worry, I believe DYK nominations are reviewed quickly these days because of the requirement that experienced nominators also review someone else's nomination. The article does appear to be long enough and new enough for DYK. However, a concern I have is that the information in the article, that the hook relies on, does not seem to quite match what is in the source. For example, you are saying that Superior used Skype to canvassed, but the source does not say that. It says that he was "vetted via the internet on skype", which is not the same thing. Myspace is not mentioned in the source cited and although it's not in your hook, the article needs to be properly sourced if it is to appear on the main page. The source mentions Facebook and Twitter. The fact that "he met over 70% of the electorates regularly" online is not in the cited source. The fact that he was "the first Ghanaian" to use technology in this way is not mentioned in the cited source. As you can see, there are quite a few problems with verifiability, which need to be sorted out, and that's just looking at one paragraph!. I'm not familiar with the source at myjoyonline.com. Does it meet WP:RS? --BelovedFreak15:05, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, Myjoy does meet WP:RS because it is a regional news publisher in Africa similar to regional papers elsewhere in the world, but you do need to make sure that the information you placed in the hook is completely verified by the source. Sorry I didn't catch that, Sadads (talk) 15:12, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. When someone comes to review it, they may well only look at the relevant fact in the article from the hook, so just make sure you check your other references too to make sure they back up what you think they do. It's easy to make small errors like this when you're adding to an article bit-by-bit and lose track of which bit came from where. It's very important though that the articles that go on the main page look good; DYK articles of course don't need to be the finished article like FA, but they do need to adhere to our core policies like WP:V.--BelovedFreak15:16, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the help so far, I have looked at the errors you talked about in the article and corrected the hook too. Could you please review it again. THANK YOU.CrossTempleJay (talk) 15:30, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, that looks much better, good job. :) I can't see any obvious problems now, but I'll leave it for someone else to review who might need something to review to make their nomination (if that makes sense!). Don't worry though, it'll be looked at soon! --BelovedFreak18:38, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Currently you are marking most of your edits as minor, which is not the case (minor edits are generally small insignificant formatting or typo fixing type edits). The problem with marking edits as minor is that some editors screen minor edits out of their watchlists and recent changes, so don't get a chance to review your edits. If you want to read more about minor edits see Help:Minor edit, Sadads (talk) 15:18, 2 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The Guild of Copy Editors – May 2011 Backlog Elimination Drive

Could you kindly explain what, besides the title, should actually be kept from Judicial reforms in India? I don't see enough material to salvage. What am I missing? If the only thing that would be left is the title itself, there is no "article" to be kept. Qwyrxian (talk) 12:00, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi,
I had used Google translate to read the original German text. I have provided that link in a comment below yours. May I request you to reconsider vetting the DYK? AshLin (talk) 16:05, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at Talk:Ministry of Interior Ghana with a link to where we can find that note.
If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.orgor a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Ministry of Interior Ghana.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While contributions are appreciated, Wikipedia must require all contributors to understand and comply with its copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. TRANSPORTERMAN (TALK) 21:38, 6 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
First, it would help if you didn't archive quite so fast. When you leave a comment for someone, including using a talkback, and then archive withing 10 hours, it's like the person won't have seen it--I had to go through your history to find your answer. In any event, I think you misunderstood my question. You !voted in the AfD that the article should be kept. While you are under no obligation to do so, I'd like to know what in the article you believe can be kept. My opinion is that there isn't a single piece of information in the article worth keeping. Nothing in that article is actually about "judicial reforms". Instead, it's a list of grievances, most of them unsourced, about the judicial system. As far as I can see, there is one sourced statement that may actually have value (the second sentence), which could easily be added to another article. So what I'm asking is for you to justify, if you don't mind your suggestion that we "keep" the article, because I simply don't understand what is there that can be kept. Qwyrxian (talk) 00:53, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the suggestons -- I've made more changes :) Can you re-review?
Hi Crosstemplejay! I left you a message on my Talk page a few days ago but I'm not sure if you saw it - so I'm posting it here :)
Thank you VERY much Cross TempleJay - this is just the sort of feedback I was looking for. After taking your advice, I have added the SPECIFIC notable things that he has done for several high profile sports players. This is the page that we're discussing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_M._Stroth. I've also added additional reference and sources of information. I do not know if I should be removing the tags, or if is appropriate that you do - so I'm leaving them on for a few days until I hear back from you :)
Also, you left me a note suggesting that I add multimedia - I too think that would be useful, however, I haven't found a way to include that. Is that something that a senior editor needs to add?
Hi Christineokelly, good to hear from you too. I will review the article soon. As for adding multimedia it is actually something anyone can do. All you need to do is to search for the file on WP:Commons if you find one you simply follow the instructions and add it to the article else you could also upload an image if you have one with the right license then as above, you add it to the article.CrossTempleJay talk15:38, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fante
Hey, I saw that you used Fante in the top of your user page. Do you write in Akan? Did you know that there is an Akan Wikipedia? see http://ak.wikipedia.org/ . As of right now the Akan Wikipedia has only 67 articles and very few community members. If you worked hard, and started building it, I think it could be really valuable. Maybe even bring in some of your friends and make a community effort of it :) New Wikipedias are nice, because unlike the older established ones like english, which have a bunch of policies, the only things you really have to worry about are the 5 Pillars of Wikipedia! Anyway, I thought I would point it out, Sadads (talk) 20:38, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
HI, it's been some time hasn't it? Well thanks for the advice. I am a Fante and indeed speak Fante, a variant of the Akan language. I have already visited an.wikipedia.org and saw the low number of articles there. Probably your prompting should stir me up to start working there too. The only problem is how can I get you to read through my work whilst there? Hehehehehehehehe. Thanks once again.CrossTempleJay talk20:43, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, my language skills are not really up to speed in West African languages sorry :( I read French, Latin and Spanish pretty well and speak a little bit of German, are there any common roots? Lol. Good luck on building the project, but as I said, there are little or no policies on many of the smaller Wikipedias, so simply being there to help people become active and familiar is important. Something you might want to do is contact the educational locations that use Akan and ask them to start assigning Wikipedia article writing in their classes (according to this forum there seem to be at least some of this happening. Even if they are just making couple line articles based on articles in other languages, it would be a great boost to the page in search engines, and you may be able to recruit some more active intellectual types to help build the discussion about how to build an encyclopedia with direct cultural relevance to the Fante and Akan. If you want ideas about teaching assignments with Wikipeida, the English community has built a whole font of tools at Wikipedia:School and university projects, but remember there are probably no policies yet so just suggest to the instructors that you want them and their students to help build your Akan encyclopedia! Anyway, I hope that helps. Have you figured out how the interlanguage links work (Help:Interlanguage links)? If you tie the articles in to their equivilants on English Wikipedia it might draw in more people as well. :) Sadads (talk) 20:56, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, there are no roots from your languages. Thanks a lot you really ginger me on. I will start as soon as possible. I remember I created an account there some days ago, i think it is about time i started something serious.CrossTempleJay talk21:03, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Haha, that sounds great! I created an article in your language (I hope) to commemorate the conversion to the new project here, Sadads (talk) 21:14, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Haha great! I will create a few more of those geography articles, it's not too bad and I really think there should be more articles on African countries then Asian and European ones. Is my syntax correct for something like that? Sadads (talk) 21:32, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for reviewing my DYK. I have now sourced the claim that NACOB has reduced the drug trade in Ghana. You may now fully review the DYK and then please accord the right tag to it. Thanks.--CrossTempleJay talk13:01, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I noticed that you are still marking alot of edits as minor. You might want to stop doing that unless it is truelly minor, such as typographical fix or whatnot, see Help:Minor edit for more details. By making the edits minor, you look like you are consciously be avoiding the eyes of some readers, which is not good for the community in general. Anything more then a change in wording or formatting should be marked as a major edit! Sadads (talk) 11:45, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Sadads, I have been tagging the edits as minor because they really are. I have since your prompt always used the right tag for the edits I make. The ones I tag as minor are edits that deal with typo errors. --CrossTempleJay talk13:11, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
According to Your contributions you are regularly leaving big comments on discussions and user pages marked as minor (the m) as well as creating new pages marked as minor. I would suggest trying to figure out what is causing this and undoing the auto marking as minor, and only mark as minor things that you conciously choose to be minor, Sadads (talk) 13:23, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, I noticed that you create some talkpages with just the Talkpage header, like Talk:Letters From Fire. That might be useful, but talkpages rarely get used on lesser traffic pages. However, what would be useful on such pages would be the Wikiproject banners like the Albums one I added on the Letters from Fire talk. Adding WikiProject banners to talk pages gets articles into the queue for 1.0 assessment which means that eventually, someone related to the project will take a look at the article. Also, we have some automated programs and maintenance lists that monitor articles related to projects through the banners, so that also enters the article into those groups. Often WikiProjects will have common sense names based on geography or their topic area, and are pretty easy to find if you do a Wikipedia namespace search Search "WP:" before what you think the project should be called. Hope that helps! Sadads (talk) 10:25, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks for reacting so quickly to my concerns at DYK. There is still a small problem with the hook that currently says that the Unit was set up for the purpose of fighting piracy and oil-related crimes which is in this form not supported by the source. Could this maybe be reworded into something like "one of the tasks of the Marine Unit..."? Thanks, Pgallert (talk) 21:03, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Did you ever look at the article when you added the nocat-template? Is three categories the same as none? I have removed the template as being complete nonsense! Eddylandzaat (talk) 22:07, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We all make mistakes, this was a genuine one. I'm sorry if I tagged the article as nocat. It could be due to a lapse in my internet connection. I am sure I tagged it between a lapse when you may have added cats to your article. And please I would be glad if you do not use such strong abusive phrases on my page. We all make mistakes and as you can see I will apologize for any error in my improving articles such as yours. Once again sorry.--CrossTempleJay talk22:13, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You already got the friendly version of my reply. You really got me angry with those three templates. I hope you don't mind, but I have removed them all. More neutral of tone and content is hardly possible. If it is possible, please change it. Eddylandzaat (talk) 22:37, 11 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Try to copy edit at least a few articles. Remember, if you have rollover words from the last drive, you will lose them if you do not participate in this drive. If you have not signed up for the drive yet, you can sign up now. If you have questions about getting started, feel free to talk to us. Many thanks to those editors who have been helping out at the Requests page. We currently have 17 articles awaiting edit.
Progress report
We are making slow progress on achieving our target of reducing the overall backlog by 15%; in order to accomplish this goal we will need to complete about 400 more articles. However, we are making good progress on the 2009 backlog, as we have eliminated over half of the articles from 2009 that were present at the start of the drive. Let's concentrate our fire power on the remaining months from 2009; leaderboard awards will be handed out for 2009 articles this drive. Thank you for participating in the May 2011 drive. We hope it will be another success!

Hello, fyi I've just removed your prod. Schnyder has recorded two albums on a major label (Sony Classical) and is therefore notable per WP:Music. Regards, De728631 (talk) 20:54, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My prod was not to question his notability, it was because there was no reference for a BLP. Please note that PROD BLP prompt the writer to reference his/her article on a BLP.--CrossTempleJay talk20:58, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that you were incorrect to BLPPROD the article in the first place. WP:BLPPROD states that "To place a BLPPROD tag, the process requires that the article contain no sources, whether reliable or not, and in any form (references, external links, etc.), which support any statements made about the person in the biography." The article had a link to his website, so a BLPPROD was inappropriate. This is an easy mistake to make (I know I've made it before), but please be more careful in future. Regards, Jenks24 (talk) 21:09, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, sorry, I mistook that for a notability prod at a quick look. Anyhow, Jenks24 is right since external links do count. De728631 (talk) 21:22, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You left an unreferenced tag on this page Italian Open 1986 I have not being editing very long but I have listed 3 official links (sources) to the Association of Tennis Professionals website that include the tour archive for that year and the individual links for both the men's singles and doubles draw for the week May 12th -May 18th 1986. The womens event was cancelled so no record (source) is held by the WTA can you be more specific about sources? thankyou. --Navops47 (talk) 12:25, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thought I would do a bit more research on Wikipedia guidelines for sourcing here Citing Sources which I have read, the placement of an {{Unreferenced}} tag to be used if an article is nonsensicle which according to wiktionary/nonsensical means Without sense; unmeaning; absurd; foolish; irrational; preposterous. the article is none of these so I have removed the tag thanks.--Navops47 (talk) 12:53, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I reviewed your work, you can indeed remove the tag. At the time I looked at the article there was no reference hence the tag, I guess you were still editing it by then. Have a good day. --CrossTempleJay talk13:03, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hairhorn, the page Ghanaian Optician is not a duplication of Optometry in Ghana. The two pages talk about 2 different professional groupings in the country. Unlike some countries in the world, Ghana, recognizes the two professions as distinct and while optometrists have a six year training leading to the award of the O.D degree, opticians train for three years with a diploma certificate. Again this page on Opticians is to bring to the fore, the work, training and functions of opticians in the country. Adding it to the page of Optometry in Ghana will not serve the need that the Ghanaian optician page would serve. Thank you.CrossTempleJay talk23:21, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
1. This article includes a list of references, but its sources remain unclear because it has insufficient inline citations. Please help to improve this article by introducing more precise citations where appropriate.
2. This article may need to be wikified to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. Please help by adding relevant internal links, or by improving the article's layout.
3. This article does not cite any references or sources. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed.
I understand tag Nr. 1. I added some notes to the article.
I partly understand tag Nr. 2. I added an infobox and turned a part of the introduction into a new paragraph. But I do not understand what is wrong with the article's layout.
I do not understand what is unsourced about the article either. The source is simply the book. I read it and wrote a summary. In Dutch for the Dutch version of this article, in English for the English version. If anyone doubts whether this summary really tells what the book is about, there is only one thing he can do: read the book. I made it easy for him by giving a link to an online version of the book. I do not understand what is unsourced about this.
Can you please tell me what more I can do to improve the article?
By the way, I am thinking about a short paragraph about the critical reception of the novel. I could also add a list of characters, but in my opinion the novel is not important enough for a VIP treatment such as David Copperfield (novel) and Adam Bede received. I think the article about The Newcomes is an adequate model for ‘God's Fool’.
Hi Sijtze Reurich, I do not doubt your sources nor am I complaining about your article, when tagging of articles are done on WP, it is to improve the article in general and not to question its credibility. I believe that I tagged your article in when you had posted it without the "in use tag" on it. This is seen by looking at the page history [[1]], I clearly put the tag there when there was no reference or source cited. Without this tag anyone reviewing the work would likely make suggestions as to how to make the article better. I have taken off the "no reference" tag I put there off since the article has sources. Thanks once again for this discourse. Have a good day. CrossTempleJay talk23:12, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

So far, 54 people have signed up for the drive, and 33 are actively participating. If you signed up for the drive but have not participated yet, it's not too late!

DYK for Ghana Prisons Service
On 17 May 2011, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Ghana Prisons Service, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000.
This is seen by looking at the page history [[2]], I clearly put the tag there when there was no reference or source cited.

Hey Crosstemlejay, I noticed you have placed {{copypaste}} tags on a few articles. Aside from the one I linked, there was 2011 Palestinian Protests as well. I could not find a source in searches for any copied and pasted information within those articles. If you add a "url=" field to the tag, a link can be added and it is much easier to investigate. Also, I am not sure if you are tagging the articles because they look like a copy paste. It is always good to do some web or source searching before placing the tag, so there is some probable cause and validity. You can also use {{copyvio}} if you are more sure and it is blatant. If I am wrong and there are sources, please let me know. Until then, I have added {{cv-unsure}} to both article talk pages. By the way, every time a copypaste tag is placed on an article, a bot reports it at WP:CP so that is why I came to the articles to address the issue. If you have any questions, let me know.--NortyNort(Holla)10:01, 24 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
