Welcome to Wikipedia!!!

Hello Biofuel! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. If you decide that you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. You may also push the signature button located above the edit window. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Below are some recommended guidelines to facilitate your involvement. Happy editing! -- frummer 08:39, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Justice served. I tried really hard to figure out how to get Saotome's {{copyvio}} removed since I read the notice and talk and it was clear that if anyone read the actual content there was no copyvio.

So when I couldn't figure out the WikiMedia way to fix it I just fixed it and I was duly chastised but the truth was served.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

July 2012

Please do not remove the {{copyvio}} template from articles, as you did with Mitsugi Saotome. Your action has been reverted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other websites or printed material; such additions will be deleted, and removing copyright notices will not help your case. You can properly contest the deletion at Wikipedia:Copyright problems. If you are the owner of the material, you may release the material under the Creative Commons and GFDL licenses, as detailed at WP:IOWN. Alternatively, you are welcome to create a draft in your own words at Mitsugi Saotome/Temp. If you continue to insert copyright violations and/or remove copyright notices, you may be blocked from editing. Please note that only an administrator, copyright clerk or OTRS agent may remove a copyvio template. GregJackP Boomer! 05:17, 29 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

October 2012

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Your changes made the paragraph harder to understand without adding anything. Please also explain your edits in an Edit Summary. — UncleBubba T @ C ) 02:20, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Robert Nadeau (aikidoka) may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "[]"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • a series of martial art schools sharing space with first [[Professor Sig Kuferath]] and then [[Richard Bunch] through whom he has had on going contact with several notable Ju-Jitsu schools <ref>

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 00:05, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:Robert Nadeau with Morihei Ueshiba 1960.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Robert Nadeau with Morihei Ueshiba 1960.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:34, 23 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for uploading File:Salto Tequendama AfterRain.jpg. However, it is currently missing information on its copyright and licensing status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can verify that it has an acceptable license status and a verifiable source. Please add this information by editing the image description page. You may refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation.

ATTENTION: This is an automated, bot-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 10 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

Helped Please help me with... I am a martial arts practitioner who knows at least a handful of "Noteable" martial artists. A friend of mine who is a writer suggested I would be doing a service by improving their Wikipedia pages. I started the Robert_Nadeau_(aikidoka) page long ago and have been an itinerant contributor for some time and I know things have changed at Wikipedia over those years. I'm wondering how I can contribute what I can reliably source. If I keep writing, does it look spammy? Thanks for the Tea! Biofuel (talk) 07:46, 7 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

It is not recommended for you to write about your friend's page, because it will be a conflict of interest (WP:COISELF). Kaap bij Sneeuw (talk) 11:11, 7 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]
You can write about someone where you have a CoI, but you must declare that and should use the articles for creation process to crate a draft, which will be reviewed by an independent editor before publication.
Another way you can help is by providing pictures. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:31, 7 March 2026 (UTC)[reply]

Feedback
The reviewer, Devonian Wombat, left the following feedback:
This draft's references do not show that the person meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion for people. The draft requires multiple published secondary sources that:
  • provide significant coverage: discuss the person in detail, not brief mentions or interviews lacking independent analysis;
  • are reliable: from reputable outlets with editorial oversight;
  • are independent: not connected to the person, such as interviews, press releases, the subject's own website, or sponsored content.
Please add references that meet all three of these criteria. If none exist, the subject is not yet suitable for Wikipedia.
Sources authored by Moon himself are primary sources, and do not contribute to notability. LinkedIn and WordPress blogs are not considered reliable sources.

Next steps

  • Edit Draft:Richard Moon (author) to address the points above, making sure to publish any changes.
  • When you are ready to resubmit your draft for review, click the Resubmit button.
  • If you do not edit your draft in the next 6 months, it may be deleted.
