TEAM KERR
Team Kerr is a running team who reside in Annahilt, County Down, Northern Ireland.
The team consists of husband and wife, David (born 11th January 1974, Newry, County Down), Sandra (born 17th March 1971, Weymouth, Dorset) and their son Aaron (born 5th July 1997 Portsmouth, Hampshire). Sandra and David run whilst pushing Aaron in his custom built running wheelchair.
Aaron has complex medical needs and severe learning difficulties. Born with Chronic Renal Failure, he had a kidney transplant in 2010, receiving a kidney from his dad. Due to Aaron's ongoing health conditions, David and Sandra are both now Aaron's full time carers.
The team started running together in November 2014, and their first official race was the Great South Run in Portsmouth. They run all distances, with the marathon being their preferred event.
In October 2016 they completed their 25th marathon at Dublin Marathon, and received the Lord Mayor's Medal after being nominated by their fellow runners.
In their spare time Team Kerr run their official charity, Aaron's Army[1], and provide running joggers to families in similar situations to them.
Team Kerr run all over the UK and Ireland promoting disability awareness, equality and acceptance for disabled athletes.
