Fire Jenga (Firenga, Jenire, Flaming Blocks)

A game which has its origins based in prehistoric Ireland where burning piles of wood were removed from the fire and placed on the top of the fire using various equipment. Legend tells of standard barbeque tongs being used originally during gameplay, but more advanced players have been noted to use two differing sizes pieces of wood, often branches or firewood, to left the chosen piece from the fire.

Rules

Standard gameplay lasts until the fire has burned out or has become too small and hot to continue gameplay in a safe and calm manner. Increases in the fire size may be made at the discretion of the players by adding more wood in the standard triangular shape.

Gameplay

Gameplay proceeds clockwise and must always end with the player to the initiators right hand side, also known as the dummy player. Each round the player must remove a piece of burning wood which has at least one other piece of wood lying on top of it and place it on the top of the fire. Other opponents may increase the difficulty by blowing or increasing the oxygen to the fire to increase flame size and difficulty. Every piece of burning wood that falls from the fire, whether caused by the player or not, must be picked up by the player using only their bare hands, with 10 seconds given per burning ember/wood. Opponents will shout 'hands' when this occurs to ensure no pieces are forgotten. If a person refuses to do this he/she may be burned indiscriminately as per the players desires and removed from the game.

End Game Scenario

Unlike most games, victory in Fire Jenga is not personal but more of a team victory with every player basking in the glory of winning. If the team successfully beats the fire they most commonly form a circle interlocking arms and begin circling the defeated fire chanting celtic songs and grunting. An unsuccessful game ends with all opponents becoming burned or overheating due to intense flames so much so that gameplay cannot continue. This normally occurs in the Fire Jenga extreme, in which lighter fluid may be added at any time in the game by any single player.
