Scott Charton of Columbia, Mo., served as a journalist with The Associated Press from 1983 through 2005, when he retired from AP. Charton’s assignments included covering the administration of Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton from 1983 to 1989. He served as Missouri Capitol Correspondent for AP from 1989 to 2001, and was AP Missouri Roving Correspondent from 2001 through his retirement from AP in 2005. Since 2005, he has served as CEO of Charton Communications & Consulting, a media consulting firm based in Columbia, Mo.
