My name is Scott Michael Powers.

I am a journalist, freelance writer, freelance editor, and novelist residing in Orlando, Florida, U.S.A.

I write fulltime as a contract correspondent for an organization called called Extensive Enterprises Media. Its flagship news medium is Florida Politics, which publishes daily political news from Florida at its website FloridaPolitics.com[1]. It also publishes political news in a variety of other media including newsletters and a quarterly glossy magazine called Influence. My work frequently appears in all of them.

I also am a fiction writer associated with an organization called The Alvarium Experiment[2], which has published scores of short stories both as independent publications and in five themed anthologies.

I previously wrote for several newspapers, notably the Orlando (Florida) Sentinel, The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch, and The Victoria (Texas) Advocate. Over the years I have freelance written or edited for several magazines. I also have published one full-length novel called The Roswell Swatch[3].

Other than retirement funds invested by a couple of mutual funds, as of April, 2021, I have no investments in any companies.
