Introduction
Richard Wagenblast, also known by his Internet nom de plume "Rblaster", is a resident of the great State of New Jersey. After posting semi-anonymously on the Internet for many years using this name and looking back on many years of posts and content (some quite good, IMHO) that now serve in some small way to define who I am, I decided some time ago to reveal the man behind the Internet identity.
I head up the technical unit of the Office of Cable Television (OCTV) of the State of New Jersey's Board of Public Utilities. I've worked there since 1993, after a 13 year career in the cable television industry ranging from an entry level job, and covering most functions and titles through Chief Technician, in addition to functioning as a General Manager of a mid-size cable system in California when necessary. I am also a seasonal supervisor and driver for the New Jersey Department of Transportation's Winter Operations Support Team working out of the DOT's Central Region Headquarters office in Freehold, NJ, and a part-time stagehand for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) working at several venues in the north and central New Jersey area, including Prudential Arena and NJPAC in Newark.
Education
I hold an AASEET degree from Union County College in Cranford, New Jersey after starting out originally on a BSEE path which included attending Engineering schools at Rutgers and NJIT. Life had other plans for me though, which cut my school career short and took me to California for nearly five years, from 1988 to 1993.
I also hold an FCC commercial license (General Class, formerly Second Class) and an FCC Advanced Class amatuer radio license, WA2BWP.
Facts
Yeah, OK...I'll get around to this and more later (right). But, so that this page is not left blank in the meantime:
- Rich is the proud father of one 28 year old son, as well as 16 year old triplets (two boys and a girl) and a 9 year old boy.
- Rich is happily married, and is a resident of the Jersey Shore area.
