Carson Edwards (athlete)
Carson Edwards (born September 20, 2007) is an American sprinter from Bowie, Maryland. Competing for The Field School in Washington, D.C., he set multiple school and state records in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters. Edwards won District of Columbia state titles in the 100m and 200m and qualified for major national meets, including New Balance Nationals and the Millrose Games. He committed to the University of Pennsylvania to compete in collegiate track and field.
Early life and education Edwards was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, to Rachael Edwards, a teacher, and Ray Edwards, an information technology consultant. He was raised in Bowie, Maryland, with his sister, McKenzie.
He attended High Bridge Elementary School for kindergarten and first grade before being admitted to the Talented and Gifted (TAG) program at Heather Hills Elementary School, where he earned one of the highest recorded scores on the program’s entry exam.
In seventh grade, Edwards enrolled at The Field School in Washington, D.C. During the second semester of that academic year, he completed classes remotely due to the COVID‑19 pandemic.
