Marco D’Amico Singer, songwriter & guitarist

Winner of the 2007 Ontario Independent Music Awards, for Best Male Artist. Italian-Canadian Marco D'Amico is a remarkable self taught guitarist and singer songwriter whose melodic style embraces the romance of a song that we all yearn to connect with. His engaging demeanor belies a passion rivaled only by his vocal and musical talents. Marco’s profile extends from Canada to Japan, where his debut CD, "Something About You" was released on the JVC Victor label. The first radio release reached # 1 in Nagoya, Japan’s 4th largest city. The song held on in the top 10 position for 6 weeks in 2005 and appeared on more then a dozen other charts. In Canada, the CD was distributed through Chapters / Indigo and promoted by live, in store performances.

"Something About You" was independently released on Marco’s own label, RaspberryMusic. It is the natural culmination of a performing career that this Toronto based musician started early on in life. Marco is the middle child of three to a painter father and child-minding Mother. He grew up in the Italian community of Woodbridge, just north of Toronto. As a nine-year old Marco slipped a couple of dollars out of his mother's wallet to purchase a tired old guitar. With half its strings broken, the instrument launched Marco's lifelong affair with the guitar. He notes with a smile that not only did his mother provide the $2 to buy his first instrument, she also provided the inspiration to perform: "Singing comes from my mother and volume from my father!"
