Hesitant Alien is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Gerard Way, released on September 29, 2014. The project was conceived following the break-up of My Chemical Romance—the band which he started and sang lead vocals for—in 2013.
Background
Prior to starting his solo career, Gerard Way was the founder and lead singer for American rock band My Chemical Romance. After its creation in 2001, the band released four albums before breaking up on March 22, 2013.
