Kae Tempest[1] (Born on the 22 Dezember 1985 in Westminster)
Kate tempest was born in 1985 shortly after her family moved to Brockley, south-east London. They grew up the youngest of 5 children in the household. Before training as a lawyer, their father worked in construction, their mother taught English as a foreign language. They were exposed to literature from an early age. In an interview with the Guardian, they spoke about this: “My dad is very poetic and tells long stories that never resolve themselves. My aunt and uncle were both artists and she was quite a role model – she was very serious about her work, and I remember her talking about the struggle of being a woman making art." [2]
Kate Tempest released their first album in 2014 called Everybody down[3], not to long after they won the Mercury prize in the same year. The next year she was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and in 2016 their novel The Bricks That Built The Houses, which won the Sunday Times Bestseller. They continued their career as a Rapper and Poet publishing four more albums and many singles [4]. Their most popular songs are firesmoke, more pressure and no prize.
