Matthew Antonio Bauer (born 5 May 1996) is a Spanish professional Footballer who plays as a striker for English football club Arsenal and the Spanish National football team.
He began his career in 2010 after a successful tryout for York City F.C. at the age of 14. He was later scouted by Arsenal scouts and reported on his 'positioning and finishing' making him him one of the youngest players ever to be scouted by Arsenal. At the age of 18 Matthew Bauer made his debut for the senior squad in a match against Bradford City in the first round of the 2015 FA Cup. Bauer ended up giving an assist to the 3rd goal of the match which was scored by Theo Walcott.
With the success that he was doing in Arsenal it attracted Spain and he was given a call up to the national team at the age of 19 against Romania which he came on as a substitute for Fernando Torres in the 66 minute where he scored Spain's second goal of the match.
