KEKSI is a finnish metal band formed 1975. They play many kinds of metal including nu-metal, power metal, early metal, thrash metal and progressive metal.
Band was formed by the guitarist Lauri Laurenne and the drummer Keijo Sarmela. They met each other in the Rovaniemen Keskuslukio. They played twosome until came the singer Marco Vaippala, bassist Hermanni Valonen and the keyboardist Teemu Mainio. They recorded their debut Sandwich Fest on 1st of June to 15th of July. The album was released 17th of July, 1977.
They had many arguments so first the drummer Keijo Sarmela leaved the band and then the singer Marco Vaippala. Keijo Sarmela was replaced by Jari Kopola and Marco Vaippala was replaced by Miiko Koski.
