Gender Gap + GLAM advocate
I was previously the Open Knowledge Coordinator at the Smithsonian American Women's History Museum and the Smithsonian American Women's History Initiative. From February 2019 - October 2023. Learn more about that work here. While in this role, I facilitated the addition of over 2.2 million words about American women from Smithsonian collections to Wikipedia from various forms of outreach, edit-a-thons, intern programs, etc. Images I added to Wikimedia Commons have been viewed well over 50 million times on over 22 language version of Wikipedia.
I have previously been involved with organizing WikiConference North America 2019 (previously 2016, 2017, and 2018) and served on the Board of Directors of Wikimedia District of Columbia (2017-2023).
I was previously the Wikipedian in Residence for Gender Equity at West Virginia University Libraries (2015-2018).
