Kain Ramsay: Life Coach and Counsellor in Scotland
Kain's passion for combining Life Enhancement Coaching and Counselling stems from his own personal life transformation.
Having since qualified as a Therapeutic Counsellor with deep understanding of sociological and psychological approaches to mental and emotional well-being, he offers a professional balanced approach to life coaching based on practical application and real life results.
Through his commitment to understanding the power of personal change and development, he created a unique 7 Step process with which he coaches others to thrive through the overwhelming challenges that life can bring. Prior to becoming a Life Coach and settling in Dunfermline, Kain served in the HM Forces, completing tours in Ireland, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iraq during the Gulf War II.
It was in the HM Forces that Kain learned the valuable principles he needed to support his peers in overcoming personal and professional challenges in the midst of the most dire of life conditions. Kain learned the value of personal development and holistic coaching through applying the principles he teaches today in the context of his very own life. Through this, his unique approach to combining Life Enhancement Coaching and Counselling is underpinned by an understanding of what it is to hit 'rock bottom', and the steps that must be taken to effectively rise back up again.
These insights, reinforced with ongoing personal development, provide the framework he uses today that can be adapted by anyone with the intent of making progress in life. Through embracing and overcoming hardship, Kain learned how to live with intentionality and purpose which is his core motivation for helping other people to do the same.

Kain Ramsay History and Background
Kain Ramsay was born in Dundee, Scotland where he lived until the age of 12 with his mother, Barbara Elizabeth Ramsay, father, Stewart McKain Ramsay, and sister, Gair Ramsay.
At the age of 12 Kain moved to Carlisle in Cumbria with his family where he attended the William Howard Secondary School in Brampton, Cumbria.
On the 09th September 1996 Kain joined HM Forces, British Army as an apprentice in The Royal Engineers where he passed and completed two years of basic military training, combat engineering and gained an NVQ 1 in bricklaying and concreting at 1 RSME the School for Military Engineering in Chatham, Kent, England.
Throughout his time serving as part of HM Forces he served in Antrim, Northern Ireland 1998, Ali Al Salem, Kuwait 1999, Al Karje, Saudi Arabia, Thumrait, Oman 2000 as part of the British Army training exercise Ex Saif Sarris II, Nanuki, Kenya 2002 on a construction tour then back to Kuwait prior to entering Iraq at the beginning of the Gulf War II.
Kain left the Armed Forces in August 2004 where he managed a public house, The bridge End Inn, in Dalston, Cumbria, England with his father Stewart McKain Ramsay. This lasted for 6 months until Kain began to struggle with depression, alcoholism and PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
In January 2006 after spending almost 2 years moving from various jobs and positions, Kain's battle with depression and PTSD became overwhelming for him which resulted in his emotional breakdown and submission to the Carlton Clinic, Garlands Hospital where he stayed for 2 months.
In July 2006 Kain was awarded a 12 month working holiday visa for Australia where he went via Singapore and Thailand. In Australia Kain retired from his bricklaying trade and entered into sales and marketing where he quickly became the leading salesperson for a Honda dealership, in Perth, Western Australia. Kain's battle with alcoholism continued alongside numerous failed suicide attempts as he struggled to maintain mental and emotional composure.
In 2003 after the Gulf War II Kain left the army for a 'normal life' outside the forces. He ran a pub for six months but ran it into the ground - leaving debts for his dad to pick up (which led to his bankruptcy and parents' divorce), blind to the damage he was doing to himself and others.
He tried a number of jobs but couldn't stick any of them. Having become dependant on alcohol, now getting into frequent fights and trouble with the law, he sold his house and moved to Western Australia for a break after his release from hospital with depression, severe anxiety and PTSD.
Living in Perth for over a year living off the house proceeds and became a lot of peoples friend (while the money lasted), he burned through over £50,000, friends and opportunities until he again came to the brink of mental and emotional collapse.
After getting into trouble with the Police and having an Australian Visa rejected, he went to New Zealand where his remaining money ran out, amidst further drink, drugs and trouble with the law.
After losing the job that allowed him residance in New Zealand, he was taken in by a local builder called Pete, who through providing a Solid mentoring friendship - allowed Kain to get his life back together again and find a purpose for the rst of his life.
In 2009, Kain returned back to the UK after three years working overseas to re-enter full time education, where until 2012, he studied and qualified in Counselling levels 1, 2 and 3 with BACP, the Social Sciences and Business (management, economics, personal development, marketing, history, psychology, sociology and politics). In 2010, Kain won two awards for his commitment to study and his achievements being Student of the year and the Bank of Scotland Award for Business Studies.
