This page contains some quick documentation for how statuses are displayed for WP:HAU using this Wikipedia:Highly_Active_Users/Status template.
The template takes one and only one parameter, and that is the status to be displayed. (This can be conveniently transcluded from a user /Status page (ex: User:Example/Status) in a template, such as the tables in use at WP:HAU do.)
See the sections below for valid statuses and examples of how they display.
Syntax:
- {{Wikipedia:Highly_Active_Users/Status|<status>}}
For the below sections, remember that all statuses are non-case sensitive. Every status is transitioned to lowercase before being compared to the defined statuses.
Explicitly Defined Statuses
Online
- Displayed for: online or in
Around
- Displayed for: around
On IRC
- Displayed for: irc
Sleeping
- Displayed for: sleep or sleeping
Busy
- Displayed for: busy or recently online
Away
- Displayed for: away
Offline
- Displayed for: offline or out
Default Status Display Possibilities
Other
- Displayed for any non-explicitly-defined status. The status is shown with a capital first letter, all other letters lowercase.
Unknown
- Displayed when no status is supplied to the template at all.
