User:Jef Shaffer
Born on August 10, 1975 in Indianapolis, IN, Jef Shaffer is a musician, singer/songwriter, comedian, writer, and graphic artist. His musical career began when he was young and he became a part of his first real band, Matrix, in 1991. Along with band mates Derrick Zajac (guitar), Alan Mauger (guitar), Eric Hargett (bass), and Jeff Seipel (drums), Jef began his career as a rock musician and music visionary. In the years following, Jef was the front man for bands including Saviour Alien, Vertigo Burn, and The Mindflip Transfusion, finally becoming the singer for Collingwood Nights in August 2007. In addition, he was the lead guitarist for Columbus-based band, Clutterhouse, from 2006-2009. Jef's only solo CD, "Coarse the Vein", released under the moniker Hooplehead and the Droop-Eye Orchestra (named after slang used in the HBO series, Deadwood), was released in late 2001 to mixed reviews. He currently maintains his status as the lead singer of Collingwood Nights and the creator/editor of Fliprag Magazine, a regional publication dedicated to the promotion of hard-working bands.
