Ramagon Construction Toys are a Lego-compatible construction set previously marketed by Discovery Toys [citation needed other than my personal memories] and the now-defunct [reference ramagon.com page for Ramagon Toys, Inc] Ramagon Toys, Inc.
The basic toy consisted of hard plastic struts with end-clips that fitted into holes in ball-like 26-hedral [link to polyhedra?] plastic nodes. Two opposed holes on each node were round, making the node potentially rotatable if the strut were fitted in one of those nodes. In addition, soft plastic double-ended clips could be used to connect nodes directly, allowing more complex points of articulation in the final structure. Finally, flat plastic plates, generally triangular or square, could be snapped into similarly shaped faces of the final structure. Some of these plates were covered in protruding studs, allowing Lego bricks to lock onto their surface.
Beside the basic toy, Ramagon kits were designed for construction of a particular object, for example a Mars Rover [reference link to Mars Rover toy]. Ramagon kits are fully compatible with each other and the basic toy.
