Tamika Harper hails proudly from the West Side of Atlanta, GA, where she received most of her nurturing. GA.Me was born November 30, 1975, under the sign of Sagittarius, thus, it is no secret that she is optimistic, God natured and Spiritual.She was born to Inez Harper and Jimmy King, affectionately known as Lady Girl, which is also the name of her production. It is reflected in GA.Me's work that she is happily a Grady Hospital baby, Georgia Peach and a sophisticated Southern Belle. She is an alumnus of Booker T. Washington High School, but experienced a rather abnormal high school career. Though Tamika was the eleventh grade class president, president of the debate team, and Vice President of her senior class, she was not allowed to participate in her graduating commencement, due to her inability to complete graduation requirements. However, she did earn her high school diploma from Booker T. Washington High School in 1995 through night school.

Georgia Me birthed her career at Atlanta Metropolitan College, where her classmates and comrades supported her at her first poetry reading at Club Mecca, downtown Atlanta. Her job at The Gallup Poll allowed her to survey the opinions of America, being that it is one of America's oldest surveying poll. Ms. Harper states that,"The principles of Gallup "winning others over", "command", etc, have impacted and improved my life everyday. I'm a good listener because I was a surveyor." GA.Me has been able to appreciate her peer's issues and stories and create Spoken Word pieces such as, "Full Figure Potential", "Hit Like A Man", "B.A.N", and "NIGGODS". Each of these pieces and so many more have been personal testimonies and tribulations that she has either witnessed or endured and overcome. After she had discovered the outlet of poetry, also known as Spoken Word, she escaped to it and utilized it for the betterment of all people. She has always believed in Spoken Word and was grateful for the doors God opened, allowing her to profit solely off of the gift Most High granted her. Her art has carried her numerous places such as New Zealand, South Africa, Scotland, Australia, London, England, and Cancun only to name a few. GA.Me has also had the divine opportunity to perform at the Radio City , Kodak, Apollo, Fox Theater, Orpheum and every major venue in the country. In addition, she was the only speaker at a luncheon for The Honorable Elijah Muhammad which was given during the Hip Hop Awards weekend. Of all of these dynamic performances she has been involved with, the most familiar are her 7 performances on HBO's Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam. These appearances are what opened the doors for her to perform on Broadway and for Obie Award Winning Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues in The Royal Playhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. GA.Me's community work and activism is immaculate and noteworthy. She has served as an artivists for rallies i.e. Troy Davis on Deathrow, Free Jenarlow Wilson, Jena 6, Assata Shakur and many more. Her political stance involves working on projects with Cynthia McKinney for Senate and Barack Obama for President! Her talent and devotion to her community caught the attention of Tyler Perry, allowing her to debut in Tyler Perry's "Madea Goes to Jail". GA.Me has been on panels for the NAACP, SCLC and PUSH coalition on topics ranging from Gentrification to Self Image to Popular Culture. She also remains the official voice of "Saving Our Daughters" written by Karen Watts and Curt Benjamin, while serving in panel discussions alongside T.I., Sean Garrett, Rockmond Dunbar, Keisha Knight Pulliam, Bonecrusher, Xernona Clayton, Gary Sturgis, Columbus Short, Roger Bobb and Nia Long. A life changing experience occurred when she hosted The Official Goodie M.O.B. Reunion at Masquerade Park Sept. 19th, 2009. "Goodie Mob is my favorite group in the world! My inspiration and motivation to follow my heart and commit to doing well with my art (life)! Very significant and beautiful moment in my life!" The most impacting accolade she has received thus far was being honored by Delta Sigma Theta with KUUMBA award Artist of the Year and Given proclamation by the cities of Atlanta, College Park, East Point and the entire County of Fulton declaring May 4th "Tamika Georgia Me Harper Day". This gave way to her birthing TAMIKA FESTIVAL, Scholarship and Creative Community Celebration. Her talk shows, "An Amazing Night/GA" and "GA.Me Presents", where she would discuss issues in the community and highlight emerging Spoken Word artists. Her appearance on BET Lyric Cafe All Star TV has presented her the opportunity to be featured on BET's 2010 Lyric Cafe Compilation.

Georgia Me has been awarded several accolades for poetry alone. She is a Peabody recipient, has been honored with a Tony Award and her show, which was part of the first season's HBO Def Poetry Jam Season, won Television's coveted Emmy Award! She was also awarded the Savannah Spoken Word Festival Awards Best Feature.

Tamika Harper has one son, Wisdom Inshallah Harper King. He was born April 3, 2000 and continues to be the light of her life. She is currently engaged to Samuel Mosby, who proposed to her at the 2010 Tamika Festival, where they also met in 2009.
