is a true professional as a Business Development Motivational Leader with an abundance of project management skills who is confident, pro-active, self-motivational, and intelligent. His skills set is varied, but his core competence is his ability to turn around companies and “make things happen” in a very positive manner. A modern-day “trouble-shooter”, Stewart focuses on the processes and “inner workings” of a Company rather than, simply, the financials where others have made the mistakes of concentrating their turn-around efforts to no avail.
Stewart enjoyed a 17-year marriage having two boys in that union and has now been divorced for some 11 years. He, now, focuses his efforts on his business interests and enjoys the great outdoor life, including walking (when in Malta he walks 5 miles every morning along the promenade) through the countryside and mountains/Fells soaking in what he calls “God’s Beauty” which he also states is “free for everyone to enjoy”. He plays golf – badly (his own words) – and a game of tennis. He, also, enjoys his yachting and takes any opportunity to get out on the water and has great respect for the water and all the elements. His interest in sailing is reflected in a couple of his business interests being Charter Management (achieving a good RoI for your asset) and, what he terms, “Yacht Baby Sitting”. He loves cooking (cordon bleu) and entertaining and organising dinner parties and finds the kitchen very therapeutic. His greatest “claim to fame” was cooking for 12 guests, including the Mayor of Los Angeles, in Pasadena then joining them for great discussions and liquers, they dressed in DJ’s whilst he was still dressed in his T-shirt and shorts – quite bizarre !
Stewart has mixed with the richest and the poorest although he is very quick to point that even the poorest in financial terms are very rich in other less materialistic ways and states that the BEST education is the University of Life and ALL it has to offer. During his worldly travels, he has taken time out to learn and experience the different cultures and customs of this wonderful world in which we all live. He has a strong Christian upbringing and believes in spiritualism and the Power of NOW.
He believes that ALL political structures, including Western styles, are corrupt in differing ways and so-called “democracy” does not exist in its purest form. He does, however, subscribe to Sir Richard’s belief regarding The Elders and their mission to make this world a better place.
His mission in life is a simple philosophy of P.M.A. – Positive Mental Attitude coupled with “making it happen”. He states there are “no flies on me” and that can be seen in his many successes that he has achieved in his personal and business life, to date. His mentor is Sir Richard Branson as they share very similar vision and similar zest and passion for life living each and every moment to the full and making even the smallest difference to the welfare of others without thought for themselves.
Stewart started his illustrious career and adult life with IBM being part of their Management Programme, including Sales & Marketing. It soon became very clear that his ability to assess a business and understanding their raison d’etre and apply fundamental, sometimes simple, changes through project management and refining the processes permitted him to “make a difference” and ensure the business success, invariably, without huge capital injection – just commitment and hard work. After all, he reminds us of what Walt Disney said in 1958 – “Dreams become Reality with Commitment !” – look what he achieved in his time ?
Stewart then chose to take his skills set, experience, and learnings to Africa where he enjoyed 17 years in southern Africa in various market sectors, including construction and manufacturing, and 3 years in Malawi, Central Africa, where he headed up the IBM Operation and increased the Turnover fivefold and increasing the profitability threefold – quite an achievement in only 3 years !
His return “Out of Africa” saw him being based in Isle of Man and running a successful Business Consultancy on and off-island. He was a major “player” in setting up the Small Business Start-Up Scheme for the Isle of Man Government and was a Consultant/Adviser for the Federation of Small Businesses, the Prince’s Trust, The U.K. Government’s eVAT Forum to name but a few. He also set up an Offshore Internet Gambling Operation in Alderney, Channel Islands for a major Organisation in Las Vegas which was against all odds. He is well respected for his views and philosophies and has written various articles on business and how they “tick” and self-Development.
Stewart has various business interests, including an Event and Function Decor Specialist Company in South Africa, but his main focus is the GlenScott Group and the vision to ensure GlenScott is the “Branding of Quality in the Home Improvements and Personal Products” markets. Established in 2008, at the time of the global “crash”, GlenScott has now become a global enterprise embracing modern technology and marketing techniques and offices throughout U.K., Europe (France, Spain, and Malta), Dubai, and South Africa. GlenScott’s mission is to provide top quality products and services at very affordable prices and to compete on quality in this global market. GlenScott is already achieving success in this quest!
He finds time, in his hectic schedule, to be the Honorary Secretary of the Go Sailing Association, formerly the (British) Gas Sailing Association, bringing affordable sailing to all and is a Life Member of the Isle of Man Vagabonds R.U.F.C. and Douglas Bay Yacht Club. He is also an active member of the Malta Union Club, Royal Malta Yacht Club, British Resident’s Association, St. Andrew Society, Weybridge Mariner’s Club, Billionaire’s Elite, etc. He, also, assist in funding a school in Malawi.
Stewart now splits his time between Isle of Man and Malta with frequent visits to South Africa on business/pleasure. He is always open for discussions on any opportunity that may arise and believes in ploughing back into society. He has an “open door” policy to all and treats everyone as equal without discrimination.
