I'm Raf. I am 35, live in Hulme just south of central Manchester and have severe physical impairments. Proud geek.

This is my dad. Yes, really.

I am studying for my BSc with the Open University.

I went to the Royal Northern College of Music for 3 years and received a DipHE as my progressing impairment made continued study and performance of the viola at the highest level impossible before I had time to graduate.

I am proud to be an adopter and will always treasure the 15 months I spent with my daughter before her death at almost 2 and a half years old. Nothing about bereavement is pretty or easy but trying to avoid acknowledging it is far, far worse.

I'm an athlete in the Paralympic sport of boccia and now play for England.

I like cats, computer games and biscuits.

I type with the aid of Dasher.
