Sam Tate III was born January, 15th, 1998 in Miami Florida. He attended Frank C. Martin International K-8 Center for elementary school, Herbert A. Ammons Middle School, John A. Ferguson high school, and studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for college. Currently, Sam fences at UNC but he previously ran track in high school. On the varsity fencing team, Sam is a starter in the saber squad and qualified for the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) regionals.
Sam will receive is BA in exercise and sports science, with a minor in chemistry from UNC Chapel Hill and expected graduation on May 2020.
Interests and Skills
Anime watching is a large part of Sam's life. One of his favorites is Hunter X Hunter, the 2011 version. Overall, Japanese cultural practices interest Sam and it remains an area he wishes to learn more about in the future. Though, he does not limit himself to anime shows, he also enjoys watching Game of Thrones. His favorite movie is Whiplash, an emotional, intense, yet inspirational movie. Being a sociable college student, Sam enjoys drinking with friends at local favorites like He's Not Here. Having studied abroad in Peru for 6 weeks, Sam can hold a conversation in Spanish.
Currently, Sam works for UNC Chapel Hill as a web developer designing websites for student run broadcasts, formulating insights on user experience, as well as creating wire frames and task flows based on user preferences.
