dodger899:subpageFrank Fenton was elected to the City Council in 2005 and was named vice mayor in March 2008. Before that he served as City treasurer for four years. He is senior vice president, investments; senior portfolio manager, Portfolio Group; and senior investment consultant, the Consulting Group of Smith Barney, Inc. Mr. Fenton, a resident of Beverly Hills for over 30 years, has provided an active leadership role in many business, educational, civic, cultural and philanthropic organizations and groups. He was elected to the Beverly Hills Board of Education in 1983, serving two four-year terms and was president of the board in 1986 and 1990. Mr. Fenton has served the City as a member of the Beverly Hills Recreation and Parks Commission, 1996 to 2001, serving as Chairperson in 1999, and was a commissioner on the City’s Solicitations Advisory Commission.
Vice Mayor Fenton attended California State University, Los Angeles and received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. Prior to joining Salomon Smith Barney inc. in 1979, he was vice president, resident manager, sales manager for 10 years with Sutro and Co. and Merrill Lynch.
Mr. Fenton has a long history in community and public service. He was chairperson of the Beverly Hills Education Foundation; president and chairperson, the Maple Counseling Center board of directors; president, Beverly Hills American Little League; a strong supporter and leader with the Beverly Hills Police and Community Together Organization (PACT); a member of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple; director of American Red Cross, West Los Angeles; and a member of Variety Clubs International. He received the Outstanding Community Service Award from the Maple Counseling Center in 1986.
