  Chou Kue

Chou Kue was born in 1985 during the rice harvest season in a remote and isolated area of outlying highland villages in Laos. His father is Song Mang Kue and is mother is Maithao Yang. His father said he was born in the rice harvesting season in 1985 at the same time as when a woman, also called as Niam Txoov Neeb, passed away. He was name Qhov Txus in Hmong, and most people called him Txus in Hmong and Chou in English because he was rebirth belonging to her death or rebirth to her reincarnation. He has 2 siblings and 6 stepbrothers.

One thing he still remembers is when a dam truck with around ten soldiers stopped to pick his mom and him up on their way to the harvesting field on the 13th Street North in an area nearby the village of Himngon, Kasee District. When they arrived on the way to the farm, the truck dropped them off with all solders there. Unfortunately, 3 solders approached to his mom, and he believes they told his mom that if she doesn’t have sex with them, they would kill him and his mom. “We would only rape you, so we don’t kill you and your son,” the soldiers told his mom. His mom told him "My son you are here, Ok". He saw his mom crying, but he did nothing to help her because he was just around 3 ears old, and he saw one of them held her down and forced her to have sex. He saw his mom cry when she came back to hug him. They beat her if she resists, or even they used the gun in her.

His mother passed away when he was 4 years old. He has two siblings, including 1 brother Fue Kue and 1 sister Peng Kue. After his mother passed away, his father got married with his mother's younger sister.

Chou Kue got married in 2010 and divorced in 2019. He has children with his ex-wife, including 2 daughters, Shoua and Maynhia, and 3 sons, Yim, James, and Peter. His 2 daughters were born in Laos, and his 3 sons were born in the U.S. After he divorced with his ex-wife in 2019, he travelled back to Laos to get married with his wife in December 2019. He has 4 more children with his current wife. He has totally 9 children.

2. Education

In 1995, he started primary school at Bangkalo.

In 2000, he moved to attend his third grade at a primary school in Phoukhon and finished his fifth grade there.

Between 2000 and 2003, he attended his secondary school.

Between 2003 and 2005, he attended his high school at Samsee High School and finished his high school there. When he attended his high school, he was doing good at Math, Physic, and Chemistry, so he won a provincial scholarship to study his higher Degree in Geology at Polytechnic College in Vientiane.

In the summer of 2005, he also passed the University Exam to study his Bachelor of Economics at National University of Laos.

Between 2005 and 2010, he did both degrees at the same time. He graduated his Higher Degree in Geology in 2008 and received his Bachelor of Economics in 2010.

He continued his Master of Environmental Engineering and Management in 2011 and received his master's degree in 2014 from National University of Laos.

In summer of 2014, he came to study in the U.S. as F-1 Visa.

In 2018, he finished his Associate of Applied Science in ICT at Century College, White Bear Lake, MN, USA.

In 2016, he did his Master of Public and Non-Profit Administration at Metro State University, Saint Paul, MN, USA.

In 2020, he Finished his Master of Healthcare Specialization at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA.

In 2022, he did his PhD in Digital Health at Flinders University, South Australia, Australia.

In 2023, he also did his Master of Health Informatics and Analytics at Minnesota State University, Mankato, MN, USA.

In 2024, he did his PhD in Health Informatics.
