I was born and raised in the United States, and I currently live in the United States. As a child, I lived one year in England, and as a young adult, I lived three years in Ecuador.

I have an honors bachelor's degree in English from a prestigious U.S. university – also a master's degree in English. My employment history includes editing for a national biweekly U.S. magazine. Since 2007 I have done volunteer editing for an English-language international journal.

My active pursuits today include university studies in biology, chemistry and anthropology. I undertook that coursework with an eye toward applying knowledge gained to the composition and editing of Wikipedia articles. As a Wikipedia editor, I aspire to high standards, honoring the core content policies of (1) Neutral point of view, (2) No original research, and (3) verifiability. I continue to strive to internalize Wikipedia's "five pillars."
