Theabrownin is a polymeric chemical compound found in pu-erh tea[1] that can attenuate hypercholesterolemia.[2] During microbial fermentation, catechins and their gallate derivatives from green tea (like theaflavins (TF), thearubigins (TR)) get fermented into theabrownin.
