I think we ought to convert the external link to an internal link (World Register of Marine Species) which I seem to recall is the usual practice: I'm not sure why this should be a special case. Quite apart from anything else, it does make it slightly more difficult to spot manually-created external links which could be converted to use a suitable template… HTH HAND —Phil | Talk 10:02, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
Parameters
While considering whether to adjust this template, it should be noted that the parameters {{{id}}}, {{{name}}} and {{{accessdate}}} do not work as advertised in the documentation: this should be fixed. —Phil | Talk 11:40, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
