A horizontal version of this template should be created for placement at the foot of the page. There is no reason why, for example, a template containing lists of recent municipal elections for three large cites need appear at the top of the page, as in United States Senate election in Ohio, 1898. The subjects are far afield from each other. WP:NAVBOX suggests that a location at the end of the article would be better. Can someone experienced in template creation make such a version, or convert this one? Navigation templates located in the top-right corner of articles (sometimes called a "sidebar" or "part of a series" template) should be treated with special attention, because they are so prominently displayed to readers. The collection of articles in a sidebar template should be fairly tightly related, and the template should meet most or all of the preceding guidelines. If the articles are not tightly related, a footer template (located at the bottom of the article) may be more appropriate.
There is a move discussion in progress on Template talk:Elections in Alabama which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 09:06, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2020-09-25T09:06:00.000Z","author":"RMCD bot","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-RMCD_bot-2020-09-25T09:06:00.000Z-Move_discussion_in_progress","replies":[]}}-->
