Prince Ferdinand of Bavaria was also a naturalised Spanish Infante and his children were given the status and titles of Spanish Infantes and Infantas (they were grandchildren of Alfonso XII of Spain through their mother, Infanta Maria Teresa). They were all born as Princes of Bavaria and in line of succession to the Bavarian throne, full members of the Royal House. However, in 1914 their father renounced his German styles and titles due to his second marriage with a Spanish noblewoman, Maria Luisa de Silva y Fernández de Henestrosa. This marriage could be considered unequal and thus, morganatic in Bavaria, so Ferdinand left the Royal House and remained a Spanish Infante. A question is did Prince Ferdinand's renounciation affected also his children? They were not adults at the time of the renounciation. Personally I think that they formally Princes and Princesses of Bavaria until they married unequally themselves, without seeking the consent of the head of their paternal Royal House. Anyway, they were surely born as dynasts of the House of Wittelsbach, so I've edited the template. 86.111.105.243 (talk) 14:15, 14 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2015-06-14T14:15:00.000Z","author":"86.111.105.243","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-86.111.105.243-2015-06-14T14:15:00.000Z-The_status_of_the_sons_of_Prince_Ferdinand,_Infante_of_Spain","replies":[]}}-->
