"This article is part of a series on the Banking in the United States of America"

sounds like a word-for-word translation from, say, French or Spanish. No native English speaker would normally say "the banking". I'm deleting the article... whoops, the definite article!--Thnidu (talk) 05:08, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2016-04-08T05:08:00.000Z","author":"Thnidu","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Thnidu-2016-04-08T05:08:00.000Z-\"the_banking\"?","replies":[]}}-->

I don't think that the seal of the Federal Reserve - indeed any - seal is appropriate to template for a subject area as broad as "Banking in the United States". The Fed of course drives monetary policy, but it only supervises a subset of the banks (state-chartered members of the Federal Reserve System). The largest banks are supervised by the OCC, and of course the FDIC, which has its own supervisory authority, is responsible for insuring them all. Also, the Fed - and the FDIC - share supervisory authority with the states that charter the institutions over which those two entities have oversight. The upshot is that with critical banking supervisory and other functions distributed broadly across so many federal and state agencies, it's misleading to suggest, by featuring its seal here, that it's somehow primary among them. Absent objections, I intend to remove it and leave the template with out any seal. I'm also not sure that the "Federal Reserve System" and "monetary policy" warrant separate placement above the other categories. Comments welcome - thanks.
