Clemson doesn't report its football team being a conf member in this year. Only one of four games involved possible conf members. And we've repeatedly seen that a school can be a conf member without one of its teams in a given sport being a member for a specific season. Well, we haven't seen that for sure yet with SIAA or SAIAA schools; it's mentioned in the aub yearbook with the football coverage, and the bloody president of the SIAA at one point was W. M. Riggs. I trust a contemporary source more than the media guide. It is so very apparent your source only remembered the years they were SIAA champions, not just in the SIAA, as I've stated multiple times now. @MisterCake: Your edit asserts Clemson football is a member of the SIAA conference in 1898 and also reverts my tagged request for a Template:Better source. My citation of Clemson's 2016 Media Guide, pg 200 shows 1898 Clemson football was not part of SIAA or any other conference -contrast the 1898 visual treatment with 1900, 1901, 1938, 1953, and later years where the conference name and conference W-L-T record are explicity broken out.

Do you have a WP:RS which supports your change asserting 1898 Clemson football participation in SIAA?
