According to the Brazilian Law on Industrial Property, amended up to Law No. 14.852 of May 3, 2024, "[o]fficial, public, national, foreign or international coats of arms, weapons, medals, flags, emblems, badges and monuments, as well as their respective designations, figures or imitations" are not registrable as trademarks (Article 124, Paragraph I).

Hence it is assumed that Brazilian official coats of arms, medals, flags, emblems and badges are public domain. See Recursos no domínio público.

Note: "To reproduce or imitate, in a way that may mislead or confuse, national, foreign, or international official arms, coats of arms, or insignia, in whole or in part, in a trademark, business name, trade name, insignia, or advertising sign, without the necessary authorization, or to use such reproductions or imitations for economic purposes." is a crime against industrial property (Article 191), independent of the copyright status of the depiction shown here.
