  • Funnily enough, I took a look at the article to make sure it was a universal (or near-enough universal) word, and saw American barges and British barges and thought "nah, no need to link", but linked anyway. • Rankov had left the university after completing his studies so it would have no impact on this year's race. perhaps a rewrite here, cut "so" and use a semi-colon. When I first read the sentence I interpreted "so it would have no impact" to mean that he left specifically left so that it wouldn't have an impact on the race.
