I have heard numerous times that the World's oldest roller coaster is Leap the Dips at Lakemont Park in Altoona, Pennsylvania. I have heard rumors about the park or the ride closing, but I haven't seen any conformation. Is the information I found outdated, or was this simply an oversight while creating the article? Neither of the coasters at Lakemont Park operated during the 2024 season, but were still standing. News sources say this is because the park was financially unsustainable. The park remained open. Plighting Engineerd (talk) 03:30, 29 January 2025 (UTC)Reply

It seems like this is what the dictionary says, but not all roller coasters have that. There are loads of kiddie and family coasters with very mild turns and drops, but they are still 100% roller coasters. MakeWikipediaNeutralAgain (talk) 12:08, 24 April 2026 (UTC)Reply
