There are many names which are conventional, but don't accurately reflect geography. For example, Mocha coffee doesn't come from Mocha, Yemen -- that was simply the export shipping point. Dover sole is not from Dover, England, but fishing boats landed it there. The Battle of Lepanto happened about 50km west of Lepanto. etc. What do we call that? It's not really a misnomer. --Macrakis (talk) 18:21, 18 February 2021 (UTC)__DTREPLYBUTTONSCONTENT__-->__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2021-02-18T18:21:00.000Z","author":"Macrakis","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Macrakis-2021-02-18T18:21:00.000Z-Conventional_names_vs._misnomers","replies":["c-Sundayclose-2021-02-18T21:55:00.000Z-Macrakis-2021-02-18T18:21:00.000Z"]}}-->
- Actually I think they are misnomers, under the category "Association with place other than that which one may assume". But don't add to article without consensus, per previous consensus.
