Merging with Telescoping series

I agree with merging, just ("telescoping series" gives 787 Google hits, "method of differences" 690 and "method of differencing" 120). However, we will need to keep the header for method of difference, a philosophical method of some sort.

We will also need to put the partial fraction text inside it, just as a quick explanation for those who do not know how to split a factorisable polynomial in the denominator.

I must admit, though, that I was surprised that Wikipedia did not have an article on this method, at least until I was notified.  :) x42bn6 Talk 01:06, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

An important omission from this article

This article does not treat the circumstances in which the method gives incorrect results with infinite series (but not with finite sums). I'd have added it, but for the fact that it's alread in the other article into which this should be merged. Michael Hardy 22:54, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This page should redirect to the method of difference disambiguation page

After the material in this article is merged into telescoping series (most of it is already there), then this page should redirect to the method of difference disambiguation page. Michael Hardy 23:00, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
