The article name uses American spelling ("Colored"), but the article clearly states the league was entirely Canadian. I would expect to see "Coloured" in that scenario, but I don't know for certain how the league actually spelled it. (Not a crazy question, as the Australian political party spells its name "Labor" instead of "Labour" like one might expect.) Does anyone know which spelling is correct? It may be appropriate to move the article. 1995hoo (talk) 16:56, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2021-08-19T16:56:00.000Z","author":"1995hoo","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-1995hoo-2021-08-19T16:56:00.000Z-Article_name","replies":["c-Crumpled_Fire-2022-02-04T03:23:00.000Z-1995hoo-2021-08-19T16:56:00.000Z"]}}-->
"Colored" is the official name and spelling. You can see it used on the official Canada Post stamp (issued in 2020), as covered by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation at this link which is already utilized within the article: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/new-stamp-commemorates-black-hockey-league-1.5437722 — Crumpled Fire • contribs • 03:23, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2022-02-04T03:23:00.000Z","author":"Crumpled Fire","type":"comment","level":2,"id":"c-Crumpled_Fire-2022-02-04T03:23:00.000Z-1995hoo-2021-08-19T16:56:00.000Z","replies":["c-BilCat-20230531201700-Crumpled_Fire-2022-02-04T03:23:00.000Z"]}}-->
A lot of the Canadian sources in the article do spell it "Coloured". Do we have actual period sources that use the spelling "Colored"? Both British and American spelling conventions were used in Canada at the time. In terms of sources, this book uses the current spelling as do most other sources. Here is a newspaper article about it from 1927.--User:Namiba20:33, 31 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"20230531203300","author":"Namiba","type":"comment","level":4,"id":"c-Namiba-20230531203300-BilCat-20230531201700","replies":["c-BilCat-20230531204600-Namiba-20230531203300"],"displayName":"User:Namiba"}}-->
