Prettifying formulae

You can do that by using the <math> tag, and writing the relevant formula as LaTeX: I'm not sure this is a good idea, though, as it would cause the formulae to be rendered as images instead of text. Your call. If you want it turned into LaTex, say so in a reply, and I'll do it. --Christopher Thomas 06:22, 19 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

CAH and infringement

CAH Believe it or not this is even more complex that CSH and it cannot be explained here without infringing on copyrighted material.

I'd like to know why this is true. --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 207.225.246.225 (talkcontribs) on 16:34, 6 May 2005.

This contains potentially relevant information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calcium_aluminate_cements I have no idea whether it infringes the unspecified intellectual property. ArthurDent006.5 (talk) 08:45, 28 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Crystalline phases of cement

The molecules referred to in the main page C3S, C2S, C3A and C4AF are known as the main chrystalline phases of cement. The phase composition of a particular cement can be quantified through a complex set of calculation known as the Bogue Formula:

C3S=4.07CaO - 7.60SiO2 - 6.72Al2O3 - 1.43Fe2O3

C2S=-3.07CaO + 8.60SiO2 + 5.07Al2O3 + 1.08Fe2O3

C3A=2.65Al2O3 - 1.69Fe2O3

C4AF=3.04Fe2O3

The results given by the Bogue Formula are derived and therefore subject to error as many assumptions need to be made to allow the calculation. A more precise and accurate method for determining phase composition is by means of Xray Diffraction using a technique called Rietveld Analysis. --—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 81.110.139.241 (talkcontribs) on 22:39, 11 April 2006.
