In case anybody happens to care, I did some major touch-ups on this article, but don't panic, it's not nearly as bad as the diff page makes it look! :)
I didn't actually change the substance of any statements (or at least, I tried not to), I just reworded everything to try and make it flow better and stuff like that. Eaglizard 05:56, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

For the hundreth time: Archie Moore was born in 1916.
Moore claimed that he was born December 13, 1916, but his mother said that he was born December 13, 1913. Moore joked, "I have given this a lot of thought and have decided that I must have been three when I was born." The U.S. Census record from 1920 seems to put an end to the mystery. "Archie L. Wright" is listed as a nephew in the household of Cleveland Moore and was three years and two months old on the date of the census - January 2, 1920. It also states that he was born in Mississippi.
This was published in The Ring Magazine, and that is the source for boxrec.

I've come across this article while fixing random citation errors. I see there is an inconsistency in the Record column of the article's table. From the bottom of the table upward until the fight against Chuck Vickers (09/11/1937), the Record column shows Archie Moore's cumulative record up to and including that fight. Later than that date, however, the Record column shows his opponent's fight record. I don't know which way is supposed to be the norm but looking at the Wikipedia articles for a few other fighters, it looks like the Record column should show Moore's cumulative record, not that of his opponent. So, an interested editor should probably fix the column for all of those incorrect rows (about 200 or so, I suppose). Of course, that raises the question of whether the table is fully complete with all of Moore's fights. OK, an amendment to what I said above is needed - there doesn't appear to be full consistency across Wikipedia with regard to how the Record column is handled. Some major boxers like Muhammad Ali and Floyd Patterson have their cumulative fight record shown. Other boxers like Pete Rademacher and Giulio Rinaldi have only their opponent's record shown. I don't know which way is right, but I'm sure it isn't supposed to be a mix of the two.
