Søren SveistrupSøren Sveistrup (born 7 January 1968 in Kastrup) is a Danish screenwriter and author. His credits include The Killing and Nikolaj og Julie. His first novel, The Chestnut Man, was published in 2019 and adapted into a television series, The Chestnut Man, in 2021. Sveistrup is considered a "household name" in Scandinavia.[1] BiographySveistrup was adopted as a baby,[2] which he learned when he was 13.[1] He grew up on Thurø,[2] a small island in the south-east of Funen. His adoptive parents were both teachers; his adoptive mother killed herself when he was 21.[1] He studied history and literature at the University of Copenhagen, followed by screenwriting at the National Film School of Denmark in 1997.
