Syahmi was at the youth team of Mokhtar Dahari Academy (AMD) for several years. At the age of 17, He moved to the Selangor academy in 2020.[2] He signed his first professional contract with Selangor in 2023. Throughout the 2022 and 2023 season, he became the first-choice goalkeeper in the under-23 squad, and was third-choice for the senior squad and appeared in the substitute bench for several matches.[citation needed]
Negeri Sembilan (loan)
On 9 March 2024, Syahmi was signed by Negeri Sembilan on a season-long loan deal.[3][4] On 15 June 2024, he made his professional debut for Negeri Sembilan in FA Cup match in a 4–0 away defeat against his original club, Selangor.[5]
