Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth is a law firm headquartered in Newport Beach, employing approximately 130 attorneys, and focusing on areas of law including corporate law including mergers and acquisitions and business litigation, intellectual property, labor and employment, real estate, public law, and tax.[1][2]
The firm was founded in 1975 by Nick Yocca, C. Craig Carlson, Bill Rauth and K.C. Schaaf.[3]
A former partner at the firm, Kent Easter, was disbarred and sentenced to 180 days in prison after planting drugs in the car of a mother who volunteered at his son’s elementary school. The mother lodged a civil complaint against Kent Easter and his ex-wife, which in February 2016 resulted in a $5.7 million verdict.[4]
