Simeon Barrow Jr. (born July 6, 2002) is an American football defensive lineman for the Miami Hurricanes. He previously played for the Michigan State Spartans.

Early life and high school

Coming out of high school, Barrow was rated as a three star recruit, where he held offers from schools such as Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Missouri, Georgia Southern and Troy.[1] Ultimately, Barrow committed to play college football for the Michigan State Spartans.[2][3]

College career

Michigan State

In Barrow's first collegiate season in 2020, he decided to opt-out of the season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.[4] In week five of the 2021 season, Barrow totaled seven tackles and half a sack, as he helped Michigan State to a win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers.[5] During the 2021 season, Barrow totaled 34 tackles with four being for a loss, three sacks, a pass deflection, and a forced fumble.[6] Barrow finished the 2022 season, tallying 40 tackles with nine being for a loss, four sacks, and a fumble recovery.[7] In week eight of the 2023 season, Barrow recorded two tackles versus rival Michigan.[8] During the 2023 season, Barrow notched 36 tackles with five and a half being for a loss, three and a half sacks, a forced fumble, and two blocked kicks.[9] After the conclusion of the 2023 season, Barrow decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[10][11]

Miami

Barrow decided to transfer to play for the Miami Hurricanes.[12][13]
