Japanese poet and nobleman (1194–1269)
Saionji Saneuji (西園寺実氏 1194 – 7 July 1269) was a waka poet and Japanese nobleman active in the early Kamakura period .[ 1] He is designated as a member of the New Thirty-Six Immortals of Poetry (新三十六歌仙 , Shinsanjūrokkasen ) .
