Sabai Nan Aluih is folklore that was written by Tulis Sutan Sati.[1][2] This folklore originated from West Sumatra.[2] Sabai Nan Aluih is the name of Raja Babanding daughter.[2] She has beautiful face.[2] One day, Raja Nan Panjang sends his guard to Raja Babanding to tell him that Raja Nan Panjang wants to propose Sabai Nan Aluih.[2] Raja Babanding rejects the proposal and challenges Raja Nan Panjang to fight him.[2] Raja Nan Panjang approves that challenge.[2] In that fight, Raja Babanding is killed by Raja Nan Panjang's guard.[1] This incident is known by Sabai Nan Aluih.[1] She kills Raja Nan Panjang as revenge for her father's death.[1]
